Battery life with screen always on? (original 360)

Hey guys, I'm having trouble finding an answer to this one so just thought I'd ask you all.

How long a battery life would you expect with the first gen watch if the screen was set to always on? I'm considering getting one as they are being cleared everywhere for the new model but I would want the screen to be on all the time.

Thanks in advance!

I never had one so I'm not sure, first, you'll need to find out if it has a setting for the display on all the time. If so, than maybe a day or 10 hours, depending on how high the brightness is.

After latest update, Ambient Mode on M360 keeps the screen always on in a dimmed state. Last time I tried it, I got around 14 hours of battery life so not enough to make it a full day without recharging. With Ambient Mode off, I get around 36 hours of battery life per charge. I prefer longer battery life so I turn Ambient Mode off.

Perfect, thank you!

Out of interest are those numbers with Bluetooth pairing on (I dunno if that's a requirement of the moto).

I basically want it for a watch and to easily control Spotify which needs it to be paired to the phone

Android Wear is designed to have bluetooth on all the time. It doesn't make much sense to have that off.

Agree. With Android Wear, Bluetooth is on 24/7 with added benefit that I have my M360 set as trusted Bluetooth device on my Moto X 2014 so I have security, but don't have to unlock the phone every time I wake it.

Are you on the latest version of Android Wear? My Ambient Mode used to behave that way but after the latest update, Ambient Mode is now always on in a dimmed state. I don't want my display coming on at all unless I tap on the screen or the button, so I also turn off the Tilt to Wake setting. Also see this thread: http://forums.androidcentral.com/moto-360/576423-moto-360-true-ambient-mode.html

I have also have the moto 360 on the latest update and the Ambient mode isn't always on.. It only goes on when you tilt your wrist enough to see it. I have a UK 360 and this has always been ambient mode for my watch. I have never had a software release with always on ambient screen. Would be useful though!

I thought it came with the latest Android Wear update, not the Android OS, but not certain of that. My Android Wear version is 1.3.0.2166028.

Should have. You have to turn tilt to wake off. I am currently getting 12 hours out of it.

Didn't realise you had to turn off tilt to wake to enable the always on ambient mode. I turned tilt to wake off and ambient mode is now always on.

Wonder how long the battery lasts like this! Not hoping for long due to non amoled screen but I'll report back on this

Yeah exactly, I get 12 hours on a work day which is annoying. But I find it hard going back to non ambient mode now. Lol
