Thank you for the reply! I thought HSPA+ consumed more energy. Actually, my droid incredible lasted 2 days on one charge when I turned on wifi all the time, vs 1 day with 3G on verizon. I guess if I'm always near a wifi hotspot that's not a big issue?

It seems to me that the reason is the battery itself.. I tried completely draining it and then fully charging it while the device is off (took a good 7 hours), and for now it seems to be back to normal. I can't tell for sure yet because I uninstalled G+ updates and GVoice in the process. I'll know after I re-install them.
By the way, I just noticed that this thread is for Sprint GN, while I have the GSM version.. I didn't notice this before because the problem described matched exactly what I'm having.. I hope that's not a big issue
