Battery Life

I had been using mine this week at work to stream music via Spotify for about 1 1/2 hours each morning, then do the basics like checking email, FB, Twitter, etc. By the end of my 8 hour shift, I was in the low 50's%. Today I have not streamed any music, but stuck with the basics and after being off the charger since 9am, I am sitting at exactly 50% at 7:30pm. Not too bad. Just a note though, I do have Juice Defender Ultimate installed as well. ;)

The Vivid charges Very fast on its charger. I inadvertently bled mine down last night to 1%. Plugged it in about 8 this morning and it was 100% by 11AM. NICE!

have only had my vivid 4 days and I'm very pleased with my battery life, it's actually about the same as my atrix which is known for good battery life

I have no problems with battery life either. I have had mine since Sunday and I would say it is on par or better than my Atrix.

Its been 14 hours since mine come off the charger today, and I've browsed, downloaded apps, messed with a bunch of settings, wifi all day and HPSA+ for most, watched videos, and talked on the phone for an hour. All that and its only at 52%, my inspire would be on life support by now. I expected with the bigger screen and dual processors that even with a slightly bigger punch from the battery that this would barely keep pace with the inspire, but so far its really impressed me.

I can't imagine this post is real. Mine dies down to 63% after just 3 hours with minimal use....

I also had the Atrix before the Vivid and I don't agree with you. The Atrix lasts at least 4 hours longer. The batter on the Vivid is horrible

I took mine off of the charger (actually syncing with my work computer) about 3hrs ago and I'm at 92%.

Hmmm really? Is it possible then it's just my battery? Will att just exchange at store or should I call customer service. The phone is less than 30Days old

Took mine off charger 3 hrs ago been online for about 30 min. and checking bank and email. 97% this is the best battery that I've had. Coming from an infuse and atrix. Atrix was good than went down hill after gb update. The real killer for this battery seems phone calls web usage. Other than that really liking this phone. This is also after using iPhones for three years and android for six months

I've had great battery life as well. Had it on for 27 hours the other day before it died and that was with 4 hours of display being on. I have 2 push email accounts and check twitter and facebook fairly often, send a lot of texts and a few (less than 20 minutes total) phone calls. I am in an LTE area and I have found that since LTE came on the battery life is actually better. The lower frequency can penetrate buildings better too.

Newcomer to the Android from WinMo6 / Fuze. Can sit surf, read, socialize via web, sms, stargaze, etc for 4+ hours at a time and put a little dent in the battery life. I also take (to many) photos - often with flash. Phone survives pretty well with this kind of use.
Screen brightness along with wireless connections such as bluetooth, Wi Fi, and GPS (especially GPS Navigation) pull some serious juice on this battery so management is key to retaining a charge. As I need the GPS for 5-6 hours at a time a solution was needed. I found a (ridiculously expensive) SaFPWR Fusion 2 case - battery combo which adds some heft to an already hefty device. (I like the weight as it feels more solid in the hand.) The case/battery adds 1850 mwa to the 1650mwa in the phone's battery. (specs w/in 50 mwa) The results have been terrific so far. Haven't tested it under any extreme conditions such as directions to a century bicycle ride along with GPS tracking / data from the ride. But from what I am seeing the SaFPWR Fusion 2 along with this Vivid should handle it. Expecting 75% increase in battery life.
Otherwise my normal day has it tethered to another computer or charging in the truck. Rather be prepared with a full charge should I need it.

Can you take some pics of what the phone looks like with the big battery? Where did you buy it from?

Mine was really good today. My first full day with it. I had 14 hours of usage and it was at 30%. I have the Power battery case that the user above talked about. It really makes the phone feel like a brick in my hands. Don't know if I am keeping it, but so far battery life is great. Going to try tomorrow again without the battery case and see what I get.

Here's the Vivid with the SaFPWR battery case which was purchased from AT&T. It measures a hair under 18 mm though a little difficult to demonstrate without creating video or growing another arm. In the 'face down' image you can see the power attachment arm which slide into the side of the Vivid. The power input on the case is at the bottom, which for me works better when the phone is portrait oriented and plugged in to the car. The on/off switch is manageable even with gloves, but you won't power on accidentally.
I have a couple 5+ hour (bicycle) rides with the GPS recording and transmitting data to the web. Both instances began with removing the power cable early in the morning and using the Vivid for various things prior to and during the ride. Both times I still had a full charge on the Vivid battery though it was not being charged by the battery case as the case was drained. Still was able to get a very full day of use and have plenty of reserve. (70% @ overnight recharge) Will have to see how reception is on a gap ride in N. Ga. Also should add that one of these 5+ hour rides began at 38F (3.3C) with the phone inside a waterproof bag in a jersey pocket with only a light windbreaker layer on a very windy day. I know from previous experience temperature can effect battery life so wanted to make a note of it.

I had to return mine. I am now on an iPhone 4S. My battery got really bad on day two - five. Like 45 minutes of calls and the battery was dead. I know the Nexus is coming to AT&T eventually so I grabbed the 64GB 4S because it will have the highest resell value. That way when the Nexus comes I can sell the iPhone and get a Nexus.

Nexus is over rated.. cams suck, no mem slot and so on. tons of reviews out there. I would wait for SG3 or some others phone coming up.

I have actually spent a significant amount of time with the Galaxy Nexus. The camera is horrible. If you don't care about that, you'll probably be fine, but don't expect decent photos under any conditions that aren't perfect lighting.

The screen has a sandy, pixelated texture to it, too. I blame Pentile for that. Otherwise, it's a good device, but the Vivid has nearly identical specs with a better camera and Sense features. You will have no native Facebook sync with the Nexus.

I was initially apprehensive about battery life on the Vivid, but I have been going home after 10 hours with 50-60% battery. This is with two exchange accounts on push and a handful of e-mail accounts syncing all day and moderate use. The first day was pretty bad, but after a few recharge cycles, the battery seems to be on par with my iPhone 4s and even my Focus S. I'm not sure what people are doing to get bad battery life with this phone.
