Battery life

My question is if I replace the battery of my Nexus 6 already and I'm still getting horrible terrible battery drain like I'm talking not even a full day or even half a day of usage. I don't know what the issue is I'm not running any special apps in the background there anything like that battery is brand new still the issue didn't stem from my battery. My phone is rooted but that shouldn't matter and I figure if I'm going to do a data wipe and reboot my entire phone I'm just going to buy a brand new phone because there's no point and we setting up my phone to keep with the same one. Doesn't Nexus 6p brand new have a greater battery life? All the YouTube reviews have stated this but I just want to ask here, on the forums . Thank you.

Outstanding battery. Lasts longer than my iPhone 6s plus did and on top of it I have quick charge so that makes it even better.

, I should have been to everyone here, then I am a power user use my phone for everything just like everyone else does. My Nexus 6 Now sucks on battery power with a brand new battery that I just said I have replaced. I don't know where my battery drainage coming from. I am rooted but I doubt that's a source of it I am also an outdated software but it was never this bad when I first bought it used off Craigslist last year. That's why I'm thinking there's something to this phone that I just don't know about. I mean I can't stand it I'm already down to 73% and I barely use my phone this morning so far. Dylan problem is the Nexus 6 PS 499 99 from Google store and that's only for the black 32 gig version. I don't need any more storage on my phone I use Google photos for the cloud Exedra just like everyone else here the problem is it's expensive since it's unlocked so had to save up some cash I was just wondering if the battery life overall.

Check your battery stats, if you have terrible signal it won't matter if you have a 10000 mah battery it'll drain quickly.

Stats my 4G LTE signal is perfect my battery is always been weak on this phone and I am in Philly that on the power user and have always been one

How much screen on time are you getting in an average day?

I mean like I said, I don't think I'm missing something but when I got the phone last year, it held a charge for about a day or so...

Your signal is OK at best. When it's yellow that will drain your battery. However there is something running in the background. Try going into safe mode, and see if that changes anything. If you have gsam, gas buddy, or light flow, that may also hit your battery. There is def an app misbehaving in the background. You could also clear cache partition and see if that helps.

Actually it's ironic you mention Light Flow because I have the rooted version of life left on my phone right now. Can't you understand? There aren't any bad reviews about in the Google Play Store regarding it though that's why I haven't installed it yet.

After reading forums I remember people saying light flow was hitting their batteries. I'm not sure if it was updated though.

Well I've uninstalled it so I'll have to give it a shot and see what happens. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Hope it helps. I had issues last month with play services. After the may update, and some services updates this month it seems OK, and I'm back to getting 4-5hrs of SoT by the time I hit 20%

Well like I said hopefully this'll help you're right I don't know what else to do. The Light Flow app was never an issue before hand when I first downloaded it which was many many months ago. This started happening very recently this battery issue when I don't know what else it could be.

Well actually, after uninstalling light to flow out my battery life increased a little bit yes. I don't know why life flow is the cause of it though. I even emailed the developer and he has no idea either but my battery is slightly better for the moment. Thank you all for the suggestions!

I see the exact opposite. My 6s Plus sips the battery and 6P is a little thirstier. It's not bad it's just not as impressive as my 6s Plus. Even after all this time (day one user) I'm impressed how I can use the iPhone to stream things or browse/read and the battery doesn't drop percentages (it will and does of course after enough time). My Nexus 6P doesn't even have to be used and it drops. It charges fast and I have extra usb c cables. So I'm not upset and I'm a happy Nexus user. Good luck.

You know that's really ironic you mention that as well Because I'm just thinking that to myself as well last night I've had light flow on my previous Android phones including Droid Maxx and Droid Maxx 2 and Motorola Moto X never had an issue but this Nexus since I used to have my phone didn't think it was an issue kept it on there and recently became a huge huge huge battery issue. Now, since it's been off for about a day battery went back to being normal I can't believe it. All because I have it in the foreground running but I have a lot of other apps as well it doesn't make any logical sense to me I mean unless I'm seeing something else is also making other apps on my phone run smoother as well.

Ive only had my 6P for about 5 days, not sure whats going on with your device but my battery when not in use flatlines...especially while i sleep or leave it on a table. Im not saying its better than a 6S Plus, i never used that device (although my wife has a 6S and that battery is meh) but this Nexus battery and performance is MUCH better than my last 2 phones (S6, G4)...I never had much problems with those devices but the 6P has been fantastic...and i expect it to get better as usually it takes about 2 weeks for things to settle on the software side.

It doesn't drop enough to be concerned. But it is more than my 6s Plus. A couple percentages points or so. Versus I'm using my 6s plus and it still didn't drop a percentage yet.

Been paying more attention to the battery life on my 6P and I'm not sure if it got better with the latest version of N but it's going pretty good. Too many factors involved with too little info to make blanket statement for all. It works for me though.
