What kind of battery time do you all get on this phone?

I would like to know awake time not that it last all day.

Im coming from the tb and that got 3-4hrs awake not enough for me. Before that the iphone that got 7-9hrs of awake time

awake and uptime are different

Please let me know i am thinking about buying 1 until a better phone comes out

Thanks

yes screen on would prolly be best as some apps run in the backround and some people dont count that

So lets do screen time how long can it be on before battery dies.

Also this is for a droid 2 not the d2g

Ok. I'm not sure but it seems like it would be 8+ hours with screen on with a D2. Just judging by mine right now which is at 50% power with 4.25 hour screen time.

I had a leaky browser session earlier though which stole a bit of power, which unfortunately is a consideration on Android devices. Another consideration is if you travel it has a tendency to drain a bit in signal discovery, both 3G and wi-fi. Though I have installed a free app called JuiceDefender which solved that.

My typical day is about 2 hours screen on time, with moderate wi-fi browsing and limited phone use. Ends up at about 70% power when I go to bed.

If you go by the phonescoop.com phone finder, the D2 is the highest talk-time of all Android at 9.6hr on the standard BP6X 1400mAh battery. Larger flush-fit battery is available. The Atrix is second highest but with a 1930mAh battery. These phones are capable of great battery life, but as you read on these forums YMMV based on OS bugs.

My nemesis is the webkit processes which linger and suck battery. It's as if Apple sabotaged all other platforms LOL.

Here's a phonescoop search: Phone Finder Results (Phone Scoop)

I cannot say why some devices last longer than others. Often software is to blame, but I disagree. I think some manufacturers are just better at sourcing parts which provide more efficient designs.

BTW I am using talk-time as an analog for longevity, which of course is not always the case. For example, some screens would use more/less power. I just figure that a phone which gets the longest talk-time on a rather modestly-sized battery is probably pretty efficient in its other parts.

I cannot say the D2 is perfect though. I have had it reboot on me a few times, and the previous mentioned battery drain when it was doing its wi-fi polling or cell signal search while in my pocket.

I *think* it was the market notifications causing the reboots, suggested by another poster on here. My reboots always preceeded the notification, and I have not had one since I turned them off. Cross fingers on that one. And JuiceDefender set to disable data when I'm not using it, and reduce wi-fi polling seems to have solved any radio induced drain.

wow that is great i am going to love this phone Thanks so much!!!

My wife and I both use D2s and the battery life is fine. Usually lasts all day with no issues. As long as you charge every night you should be fine depending on your usage.
