Battery Meter Broken?

Not sure what's up. My tablet seems to be charging fine. The % gauge is going up at a normal raate but there is a big red X on the battery icon and when I go into 'settings' and click battery, it says 'battery not charging." Hoping my battery is not on the way out.

Welcome to Android Central! That kind of thing can happen with non-OEM charging cables. Does it happen with other cables?

If you charge all the way up using the cable that gives you the red X, does the battery still behave normally?

red X on battery, is not proper charger. Needs to be 5V 2amp. Look on charger you are using ,its probably is only a 1amp charger.
