How do you guys go about your battery usage, as far as charging? Do you let it drain down before charging it? I have a wireless charging pad on my work desk, so I just place the phone on it while working. But this doesn't allow it to ever drain very low. I know in the past, there was a believe in certain battery conditioning, but I'm not sure if that still applies these days.

Some people believe you should charge to 80% and drain to 30% but most people just charge to 100% and often let it drain to about 20%. It depends on whether you want to keep your phone for more than a couple of years. As the phone ages the battery degrades. This is because batteries only have a set amount of cycles (rounds of full charges) available.

Batteries usually need replacing when they have about 80% of capacity. At this level you usually have to charge more frequently during the day.

Hope this helps.

You will also kill the battery faster if you keep it above 90% all the time. Lithium batteries don't like to be full, and they definitely don't like to be empty. Hence the between 30% to 80% thing.

I have a very rigorous, scientific method to charge my battery, this may get a little technical, but here we go... I put it on charge before I go to sleep and take it off when I get up.

I do 50/50 wireless charging and wired , once it goes 5% I charge to 100% occasionally leave it overnight but usually I get little over a day on my phones so over night is rare.

Iphone 11 pro , over a year and battery capacity is 98% this is more easier to check because it's built into the phone my Andriod have to download battery apps to get it so I don't bother.

To close this off , enjoy your phone and don't worry too much into it .

I typically charge my phone every night wirelessly. Unless I end the day with 40% or more left. Then I go till the next day and charge my phone once I hit the 5% mark.

Personally I don't care about charging habits or monitor them closely. I have wireless chargers all around, so most of the time when I'm not using they will be on the wireless charger. I don't recall last time I used wired charging for any phone (other than just testing out dash charge on Oneplus). I just wireless charge without worrying too much. I also don't keep my devices long so may be that affects how I think about my charging habits in general.

I'm one to not care and charge or not charge depending days... I charge overnight.. My iPhone automatically charges the last 20% slower on habits and my Pixel I wire charge every other day.. Samsung phone charges overnight stays on after 100 %... I have a friend with a S7 since release and keeps his phone charging when in house and still gets great battery... So who knows with all these theories...
