Battery tips for owners who are struggling

Samsung phones are notorious for standby battery drain overnight. I had the S8+ and that would drain around 5-8% overnight. The Note 9 drained around 3-5% overnight. Now the S10+ it's about the same 3-5%. Honestly, I dont worry about it too much anymore as it last me whole day without charging.

That's nothing my xs max could drop 14-15% overnight

That's completely bull. I had an XS Max and it stayed at 100% overnight. I dont know what you are doing to the phone. Just like the iPad and all iOS devices it has great standby battery. I sold my XS Max after like two months because it has too much limitation, but battery wise it is a champ.

So I'm lying?

I got about 3k notifications per day on my max and thousands during the night so yes it's highly possible to lose that much certainly over a 8 hour period

No that it happened often as I tended to charge overnight and would not want to wake up with limited battery

Well I'm not sure what I did , but now I noticed only a 2% loss of battery overnight. A big improvement I can deal with.

Are people at least waiting 1 week after they get their phones to see how good/bad the battery usage is? The first 1-2 days are not typical, because the phone is updating and optimizing. Also, if you got your phone on a Friday, you're probably playing around with it over the weekend instead of your normal usage.

Mine took at least a week to level out with better Battery life

I'm loving my s10+ :)

Galaxy S10 Battery Draining

Hi,

I recently bought a brand new Galaxy S10 and it is working fine, except the battery is depleting extremely quickly.

I have attached a screenshot of the battery usage when my phone was on 10% battery. The battery even drops around 15% while i sleep (wifi, 4g, location, bluetooth and AOD off and adaptive power saver on). I make sure to end all background applications too.

And this is while i just use the phone normally, i can only imagine it would drain quicker if i open any games. I've tried booting in safe mode and the battery seems to deplete a little slower but drops 2-3% as soon as i turn safe mode off.

Is anyone else experiencing this or is my device just faulty? How long is the S10 battery expected to last? Any help is appreciated, thanks all!

Re: Galaxy S10 Battery Draining

I also have the regular S10 and have been very happy and impressed with my battery life. Do you have the Exynos or Snapdragon?

Check out my attached screenshot, I hit 8 hours of sot a few days ago. Truly impressive.

Have you checked which apps are draining your battery?

Re: Galaxy S10 Battery Draining

I have the Exynos, but even so would there be that much of a difference? I wish I could get 8 hours sot especially considering the price of the phone.

As the screenshot shows it's mainly just the android processes, and then Spotify at 8% but the rest of the apps were just like 1% usage. Is there a better way to check which apps are draining the battery?

Really? Thousands of notifications during the night? How did you ever find the time to go through them all?
