Battery tips

I am new to Android with an htc m9. I love the phone but the battery isn't even close to lasting a full day. I am usually around 20% by 4:00. I am hoping that after a week the battery will normalize and last a little longer but still... It should last a full day, my m8 on windows did. Any tips on what could be killing the battery or how to save battery would be appreciated.

When i got my HTC one M8 I had the same problem but it will be ok in a few weeks
