So my battery life is just about the same but for some reason my android system is using up 60+ of my battery usage. Anyone else experiencing this as well?

hmm. i actually feel like my battery has improved under 4.3. i get what a lot of people are saying. i think what may have happened is that they consolidated a bunch of packages into "android system" (go to power->usage->android system and scroll down and view included packages). i feel like this may be contributing to it showing "android system" using a lot more power than before. i feel like there used to be a LOT more things in usage and i'm only showing 4-6 whenever i look, so this is just my guess as to what it may be.

Ah! That does seem to make a lot of sense. And yes, I tested my battery out after the update. From 11am-11pm I was at 23%. I think it did get a bit better, just the usage was tripping me out. Thanks for replies guys, I really appreciate it.

Mine is alot worse. Seems to be the Google Map problem that was in the previous release.

My battery life is shorter, I used to leave work with around 60%, now the past few days it's around 40%. I haven't downloaded any new apps and I been using my phone about the same.

Its hard for me to tell regardless, if I'm playing Candy Crush all the time...

Disabled maps unfortunately, but battery life has tripled.

Go to settings. Apps. All. Go to the app you want to disable click on it click force stop and then click disable.

Battery is only at 82% after 10 hours of light usage with maps disabled.

70% after 14 hours, I'm thinking i can do without Google maps forever.

Man, my battery usage stinks after update. I'm down to 55% after 6 hours off charge. Android system using 81%. I have maps disabled.

I have all Google apps disabled plus Google play services which seems to be the main culprit. 1382180777404.jpg

I also force stop GCMservices when it's running. Google play store is not disabled. Location services is off. I realize it's not the way the phone is intended to be used but I would rather manage it a little to keep the battery for when I need it. 1382210267907.jpg1382210267907.jpg

It's going to be hit and miss, the only ones I have noticed are the radar on weatherbug and AJC news, so far. I don't know how to tell which ones use the Google servers for their info. BlinkFeed, internet, Twitter, play store all work fine.
