Battery Use?

Today is the first time my Fossil Carlyle 5th gen had absurdly high battery use. Typically it uses about 5% an hour without using any limitations so screen always on etc.

Today I was outdoors all day so screen brightness was set to auto so it was probably near 100% brightness the entire time. It took about 6 hours to get to 5% so 95% used up in that time.

I figured the screen used up the battery but look at these weird numbers! Idle is always high but why the heck did the Playstore services use up.so much battery? Are all Playstore downloaded apps included in that category?

I'd rather not reset the watch BUT is there any way to clear the cache? I usually find that cures battery weirdness in my Note 9.

You can't clear the cache partition as far as I know, but you can clear the app cache for Play Services. Go to Settings>Apps>App Info>System Apps>Google Play Services, then App Info, then Clear Cache.

My Juliana is pretty great on battery life AFTER the update. I've started wearing it overnight to do some sleep tracking which is interesting.

Yeah the october update almost tripled my battery life. My gen4 explorist is 2 years old. I was barely getting 10~11 hours... even with the screen always off, no GPS, wifi disabled and VERY few screen interactions through the day.

After the app update I get a good ~30+ hours. That doesn't sound like much, but for a 2 year old WearOS watch thats really good.

January 8, 2020 status update...
My WearOS battery continues to be very stable and consistent. Lovig that October update!!
I take it off the charger at 8:30 AM, by 10:45 PM its at 50%. This is with moderate use as a screen-OFF BT notifier, checking txt / voice messages and a few other screen ON interactions here and there. This is for a 2+ year old Gen4 explorist.
