BB back i come

To me, this is the same as a netbook vs a laptop. I want to have the speed and capability of Android, so I am willing to take the battery hit (mine typically lasts 13-15 hrs a day, and all I've done is use common sense... use wifi when you signal is week, don't sync weather every 15mins, etc) Sure I could sell my MacBook and get a nice EeePC with double the battery life, but at what cost to performance?

Your thread made me laugh a bit because I did the same thing. I had an IPhone then that was pissing me off so I got a Storm2 and that touch screen and lack of apps was driving me nuts so then I got the EVO, I liked it but I thought it was way to big and had bad battery life so I ditched that for the IPhone4 and that again was way to small so now here I am with the Thunderbolt. Is it perfect hahaha not a chance but right now its the best thing going. I do think once Apple comes out with the next IPhone with 4G and a slightly larger screen that may hit the spot. Blackberry however would be that last thing I would go back to. PS would you like a BB Style? I have a 3 week old one laying around here somewhere. If I were you I would get the Iphone its better than any BB and has good battery life. Good Luck.

I think so. I have a work BB 9700 that I'm using for now. I'm thinking the Bionic when it comes out. I've used the iPhone, various android phones and RIM phones. I think they all have their stengths and weaknesses. I'm a tinkerer so I like the flexibility of Android.

this was in response to Tony.

As others have found from experience after three-four days the battery life substantially improves. The first few days were horrid for me but now I can make it through an entire day without plugging up. With the same amount of usage on my Storm, Storm 2 and Droid 2 it required me to have multiple batteries. The only benefits I see the bb having are push facebook notifications, bbm and I personally loved the surepress screen. Everything else is like comparing a Corvette Z06 to a Chevy Cruze.. Give it a second shot you'll appreciate it soon enough

Yeah, the FB notifications are about the only thing that I think BlackBerry does better than just about anyone. It's really the only thing I miss about the Storm. I'm even over surepress. I loved it at the time, but it really wasn't that difficult to transition for me.

this TB is like an expensive italian sports car. it has tons of capabilities but you cant use it . i have been on these forums for hours and i have read every page of the 400 page manualto try to learn how to maximize the battery so that i could get through even half a day. there is only one way . shut it off . like completely . take out the battery . then at the end of half a day put the battery back in . thats it no other way . i know there will be folks on this forum that will fry me for this . ok but here is the thing. a consumer device should not require all this messing around . most of us would not put up with this with any of our other things ,not any thing. what i really think is that the TB is probably ok in and of itself . i think that for whatever reason it was loaded with such a large amount of crap that the average user using average usage with an average amount of intelligence simply can not make this work
just reactivated my BBstorm 2 ahhh feels so good to not hate my phone

Bye. :-*

You know, we all like different things. One phone works for one person and doesn't work for the next. Millions of people love their iphones and millions of people love their droids and they all seem to hate each other.

Why is it necessary for us to crap on each other's parade? If the phone doesn't work for him/her, just wish him good luck and let it go at that. Whatever the reason it doesn't really matter.

From here on out if I see any more new threads (and I'm SURE that I will) about returning their TB I'm just going to skip reading it, hope they find what they want and keep reading the stuff that's important to me, and that is, what apps work well, what tweaks work the best and getting my TB rooted this afternoon! :)

The Thunderbolt is very easy as far as typing but for me the Droid 2 was a b****.... I hated the touch screen and I wasn't fond of the physical keyboard either... I had the Droid 2 for roughly 5 months and still was cumbersome on it. I am already typing fast on the bolt

I got my wife a Droid 1 from Craigslist right after the iPhone 4 was announced and I really don't like the keyboard. I have issues with it as well whenever I try to use her phone. She thought she would need a physical keyboard, but I let her type on the Thunderbolt last night and she seemed to be okay with it.

I bought her the Droid because she had a Samsung Reality and didn't like the soft touchscreen so I told her that I'd get her a Droid (since it still has the keyboard) to hold her over until her upgrade comes and the iPhone 5 comes out (I think that's what she really wants).

I played with a Thunderbolt today just to try make up my mind if I wanted one. It felt like a cheap piece if plastic garbage. I would be scared to take it on a jobsite. I will stick with a Blackberry also.

It doesn't feel any cheaper than the Storm (which I had for 2 years and 4 months) and my wife had a Pearl and that felt like I could crush it in my hand.

Your right I had a pearl and it did feel cheap. But my Storm 1 also felt good in my hand but my Thunderbolt feels great in my hands.:) Would I go back to a storm................... HELL NO

With my Italian Thunderbolt expensive car I have been able to use all its capabilities with no problems at all.

I call most of these errors on the forums user error. Remember you have to be 10% smarter than the device you are using!

im getting about good life with moderate to heavy use and things like live wallpapers and stuff running. I am actually really impressed.
sorry the bolt was not for you though. good luck.

Came from a BB Storm 1. After just looking at the GMAIL APP and reading mail the way i should be, it would find it very very hard to go back.

Being new to android, im not these flashing lights but i gonna adapt becuase it is awesome..not sure how i lived 2 years with the Storm.

As for Power, yes it is a power hog but if you are in the computer, your cube at work, keep it juiced.

To each their own and good luck with your BB
