BB status now "on backorder"

called bb they said they wont have any until after new years according to the memo the guy read i dont know if he lieing this pisses me off completly.. This is worst than a video game console release
 
I am happy to say that I pre-ordered my Prime on 12/2 after Amazon cancelled my order and the status went from processing to backorder, but I have been checking my credit card for the past few hours and it shows a charge from best buy in the full amount of the tablet purchase price. Looking good for me, as of now. Will update you on status tomorrow.

He is probably reading a memo for the retail stock, not pre-orders.
 
this is what i just got in my email:
"The item listed below is not yet available to be shipped. We expect to ship it within the next 1-2 weeks, but you may not receive it before December 24. We will ship the item as soon as it becomes available."
well.. now I know when to expect it..... oh well...... :(

Just got that email and I am really pissed. I am going on a trip Jan 5th and if I don't have it in hand then I am cancelling my preorder I will vow to never order another Asus tablet/computer again.
 
yep.. well.. at least I have my new "toy" GSII Skyrocket to play with until january which by itself is an awesome device.. cant wait to get rid of the ipad2 though...
 
Just got the backorder email from Best Buy. Also, today I got an "apology" email from Amazon apologizing for "inadvertently" canceling my original pre-order, which is how I wound up with Best Buy to begin with. This mess almost makes the Verizon Galaxy Nexus launch look like a well-oiled machine.
 
ok so this rases a question how many backorders are actually being fullfiled if people get cancellation emails from amazon and bestbuy. tigerdirect only? so Asus lied when they said "shipments are on schedule" not long ago..
 
I guess this CF makes the big issue I was about to have with amazon about having my 32 gb microSD card and wireless mouse sitting in Houston for almost a week when I have amazon prime not that big of a deal.

Also from that email it was talking about finding the item in stores was that just a canned email response or is there a chance that we can pick 1 up from a B&M store sometime over the next week?
 
you mean b&m or b&h? if its the latter then you'll be waiting for your preorder from these guys even when the tablet will be available absolutely everywhere. its no joke.. trust me lol
 
B&M. I am about an hour halfway between 2 cities with Best Buys so I guess I'll wake up tomorrow morning and call both to see if there is any chance that either of them accidentally got some in last night. Truly doubtful but I imagine that if they did get them in stock there won't be much competition in stores for these devices on a Monday morning. Its times like these that I miss Circuit City at least when they had B&M stores you had more stores to try to find the device you really wanted.
 
my bb preorder currently says back order also but i haven't received the apology email about the delay. =/ But it seems as though I am in the same situation.
 
Just got the cancellation email aka "backorder." I would hate to be a Best Buy CSR right now. Best Buy will be getting an ear full. Looks like I'm going to be getting a free dock. :)

Just reordered with Amazon, on top of my backordered Best Buy order. Whoever ships first gets my money; the loser just gets a cancellation.

Just got off the phone with a tier 2 rep. He, of course, is claiming it is the venders fault for not releasing the item. He seemed to like to pass the buck. You guys will have to trust me on how I very calmly press these guys for information. He would not release the names of his vendors or his buyers (the guys at any retail store responsible for placing orders with vendors. Vendors in turn are responsible for placing orders to manufacturers. I Know how it effin' works Matt!) In fact he didn't grasp the concept of a buyer which doesn't surprise me. I did, however, get him to admit this:

Me: Best Buy holds no responsibility for delays?
Matt: (That was his name. I asked him for an employee number before our conversation began "In case we get disconnected" and he refused to give it to me.) No. The plain was to ship them out by the 19th but we haven't received them yet.
Me: So Best Buy hasn't received them from the vendors yet? (I am very conscious about referring to the company and not saying "you" or "your" because in this situation it's NOT Matts fault. Pro tip: you can get farther in a conversation with this type of wording. It's psychological. But I digress)
Have the vendors received shipments from Asus?
Matt: I don't know. I don't have that information. It may be Asus has pushed back the release date again. (Oh, great!)
Me: Do you have the names of the vendors that would be filling shipments from Asus?
Matt: Not off the top of my head and even if I did I don't think I can give that out. (You just wait Matt. XDA will be receiving that info. )
Me: So Matt, what you are doing is passing the buck. Where does the fault lie?
Matt: Like I said I don't have that information. If you call back tomorrow we will know more. (Like Hell he's going to get rid of me that easily.)
Me: So your official statement is, "It's not Best Buys fault."
Matt: Like I said we havn...
Me: (More aggressive and authoritative) Yes or no Matt.
Matt: No.

Conversation lasted a good 20 minutes. He did mention that orders may be being filled within the next 24 to 48 hours but could not guarantee arrival by Xmas. Directly contrary from what I have been told for the last two weeks.

Maybe, and hear me out here, maybe the gray models where coming from one vendor and the champagne from another. But who knows.
I will keep y'all informed as more information becomes available to me.

lol thanks man! good thing we've got you here on the case! but honestly these bb employees all give different info I called them yesterday and spoke with a super courteous lady who simply kept saying "we dont know when we'll have them in stock, you will get an email as soon as blah blah blah.." its useless to call these guys imo..
