For so long now I've been miffed and upset that the S10 promised dark themes in more places just by turning it on and then Android 10 promised even more dark theming. Yet every time I opened Chrome there was this ultra bright screen. I enabled dark theme for the device, for Google and for Chrome but couldn't figure out why it was never dark. When I pressed the + to add a tab that would be dark but the home button always have me the bright screen. Then I found this and hopefully it help someone else find a little darkness in their device. 1590916836488.jpeg1590916994397.jpeg1590917019639.jpg1590916901200.jpeg

Cool, but I don't have that option. What version of Chrome is it? I have a Pixel 3 XL running Chrome 81.0.4044.138.

I wonder if this is one of those odd differences with the preinstalled Chrome on Samsung devices.

It's been available through flags for a while.

You should look into "force dark mode" in developer options. Although a lot of apps seem to resist it unfortunately.

My son has the S9 and I tried to help him get it and he didn't have the option either. I have Version 83.0.4103.83 according to the app info page on the device. So is it an S10 thing, an Android 10 thing or a Chrome thing? I'm not sure.

That's for Chrome? That must be some different version numbering scheme from Samsung, since Chrome in general is up to v83 across devices (Android, Chromebooks, Windows, etc.).

Sorry I didn't proof read, there should be an 8 in front. I'll edit the post.

I ten keyed it and this number pad isn't the most sensitive. LOL

Hmm, mine just updated to 83.0.4103.96, and I still don't get that.
