It's really a shame. Such a nice phone and IN the Sprint company store (Chicago) can't get over .53 download (used a couple of different test programs).

Inititally it seemed just Chicago and a few other selected areas were slow, but if you read the Sprint forums-it's slow ALL over. Worst part is, could be like this for YEARS.

Super disappointed really wanted and love this phone. Just not on Sprint I guess:(

No issue in San Diego, other than not having 4G at all. Is it great? No, but it's good enough. I average around 1,000kbps on 3G most places around town. Sorry but your statement that it's slow all over is simply untrue.

Sprint's advertised speeds for 3G speeds are (400-600Kbps) and Verizon's advertised speeds for 3G are (400-700Kbps) which means you are getting right in the middle of Sprint's advertised speeds and roughly the same as you'd get on Verizon. So your device is performing as advertised.

Service in the south jersey / Philadelphia area blows. Places where my Palm Pre would have full service the gs2 stinks.

Turn your 4g on, its infested around the Chicagoland area and surrounding suburbs! No problem here! I'm in Chicago & NW indiana area try again its everywhere! Could be a dead area or app trouble

TheFishGuy,

I live near South Jersey (that line between Central and South Jersey) and I work just outside of Philadelphia (Malvern area) and I never have a problem with signal. I get equal to or better than my HTC Evo. If the problem is as bad as you make it out to be, I would go back to the store and have them take a look. There are many documented cases where a replacement device cleared that up. There is no reason that this phone will get worse reception than a Palm Pre.
