I am glad I saw this today and had an opportunity to purchase the widget. Sucks that it had to turn out this way. I wonder if there would be any legal issues if it was a free app as opposed to a paid app. It would suck for the developer but it could still get his name out there for his other apps. while still being able to give HTC the ole "up yours" and keep people happy.

I tried to backup my Pure Calendar and it doesn't give me an option to. Says its private... what's with this and any way around?

Just Downloaded BW 5 minutes ago, backed up immediately and it is already not showing up in downloads or the marketplace. Looks like the door has been closed, Just glad I got in before it did.

I hope he updates Beautiful Widgets with a new one that looks different with the same features. I mean, off it looks different than he can keep making it...since it is a different program. If it looks different no copyright infringement correct?

Possibly. It depends on what the C&D entailed. It's possible that he could just offer it for free and it would be ok.

I never played with a phone that had sense UI. Is it any nicer than BW?

If I was HTC I would be doing this right before I was to put mv version (the real sense UI apps) on the market and make some money with all the droid owners that want the pretty sense UI but didnt want to sacrifice quality(not that eris is quality). And I would do it quick before developers think of loop-hols and other ideas. So maybe we will see some nice new apps hit the market soon, for a decent price im sure..

It's a shame to see the developer forced into basically completely redesigning something they put a lot of time and effort into because of a C&D from HTC. Beautiful Widgets was definitely a must have app. The redesign is definitely not as good, but in all honestly, I don't expect it to be. It's not their fault.

I'm sure the dev will do a good job at cleaning it up. Don't update beautiful widgets when you see an update available if you don't like that look.

That seems SOOOO close to what I want..there is just something missing. Maybe a different font on the numbers?
