I been using LP for about 2 weeks now. I really like some of the customizations, some it just isnt as snappy as Sense. Plus I have been getting random "not responding" messages every so often. Anybody experience the same thing? Is there an app out there that will allow you to change aspects in Sense like LP?

Figured i wasnt the only one. I liked being able to put more rows on each screen and changing the name of the icons. And I actually like LPP calendar more than i do Sense calendar, but those reasons arent all worth the lag.

Good choice. 3rd party will never be as polished as a dedicated UI specific to a few devices.

I think LPP would work better if it was running on top of a stock build of Froyo or Gingerbread.

SPB Shell 3D is awesome, if you don't have a problem paying for it.

Wow I've never had an issue with LPP... granted I've only had it for three weeks on the bolt. Always snappy, never lagging. Works great in combo with Beautiful Widgets.

Haven't used LP on TB

I haven't used LP on the TB. I was using it on my OG Droid up until I got my TB, but there was really starting to be lots of lag and force closes with it. I think my Droid was running short on memory and was just dying in general. This is my first device using Sense, and I have to say, I am impressed and have no complaints. Think I will be sticking with Sense for now.

I haven't tried it on my Thunderbolt and don't plan to because I love Sense so much, but I have had it crash numerous times before on other devices.

I love switching up my Launcher but like you, I always end up coming back to Sense. I have had tried SPB Shell, ADW, LPP, Gingerbread Launcher, Zeam, and Launcher 7. Funny thing though I really like Launcher 7 because it skins over the notification bar. But yea all were somewhat less snappy then good ole' sense. If you are looking for more options for some customization I know that they had a past post about downloading other 'skins' that were made by some people over at XDA.

I tried Launcher Pro as well for a while but went back to Sense. The glitches I have weren't major but they were annoying enough for me to switch back.

LauncherPro has never given me problems, even on my TBolt. It's ridiculously snappy and smooth, even smoother than Sense IMO. Thing I can't stand about sense is the bottom dock. Seriously, a button dedicated to personalize? I love the swipe-able dock on LP. Only thing I miss from Sense is the widgets.

I've never really understood why anyone would use LP on an HTC device... on a Moto device yeah (Blur sucks) but Launcher Pro is basically a poor man's sense... looks nice and appears to give similar functionality BUT it is no where near as polished.

For me, I really enjoy swapping out icons and finding different styles and organizational setups which hopefully increase my productivity. HTC Sense is awesome, don't get me wrong, but some people just like to mess around with their phone. Plus, at least the LPP devs stay on top of things and provide periodical updates, the next one is supposed to be a complete rewrite which is exciting.

Oh I know it is a solid product, I am using it on my D2: Global right now to cover up the horrendous Blur ... lol

Is there anyway or any app that allows you to have more rows/columns with Sense other than switching the launcher all together?

I like Sense but switched to LPP a few weeks ago and it's been really good. I found that I have no lag now that I removed Sense (most) via the BAMF ROM desense script. When I initially used it, the phone didn't respond as well because Sense was still on it but once you get rid of it, LPP is pretty good. The customization options for me are better without Sense. I barely used Sense widgets anyway. I can't wait for a true AOSP and that will make LPP that much better.

I have never had any problems with Launcher Pro. Always smooth, no force closes and no instances of lag worth mentioning. Honestly its so seamless that I forget its there. It feels stock.

Sense? Well three button dock is too limited for my taste. Graphically speaking I know people love to rave about how polished Sense looks..and I just kinda scratch my head and wonder what people mean by that. The dock?...the Widgets, multiple home screens? Widgets are a dime a dozen and not to say that any of those things look bad on Sense but there are Widgets as good and better in the Market Place.

In the end, I suppose its just a matter of taste but I have had no problems with Launcher Pro. Hell I even paid for it..loved the ability to resize some of my widgets.

P.S. I am rooted and running the latest BAMF ROM...but I honestly didn't have problems with it before rooting.

+1
Only thing I would add is that I have experienced improved battery life with LP as well.
