Beeping alarm out of nowhere on A50

Hi everybody.

First of all, sorry if this isn't the right place to post this. Second, english is not my first language, so sorry if there are some mistakes.

I've had my A50 almost a year now, and this is the first time this has happened. Today, at around 6 am, while the phone was charging, power was on but the phone was inactive (i was sleeping), a loud beeping noise like an old alarm started. Of course i tried to check the phone, but it wasn't responding. After about 15 seconds, the sound stopped and the phone started working.

First thing i checked was notifications, but there wasn't anything related.

The sound wasn't like any alarm sound on the phone.

I haven't found anything on the internet so far and my only guess is that it was some kind of hardware alarm, since it was charging while it happened and nothing showed up on the software.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Welcome to Android Central! Which A50 variant do you have -- what's its exact model number? Some variants have NFC -- if yours does, then see if this problem goes away if you turn NFC off.

Thanks for the quick responses. The phone model is SM-A505G.

This only happened this one time, at around 6:04 am, i have never heard anything like that on this phone before. So it's not like it's a problem right now, it's more that i would like to know what caused that sound, because it was louder than usual and it wasn't like any alarma sound on the phone, plus the phone was not responsive while it was sounding.

Thanks!

If it happened once can't trouble shoot until it happens again

Could it have been an Emergency Alert (like severe weather or an Amber Alert)?

Was there anything on the desk right next to the phone that might have an NFC chip in it, like an ID card or credit card?

Hi, i thought it was an emergency alarm at first, but nothing showed up on the phone and nobody else got one.

I don't think there was anything with a NFC chip and i think this model doesn't have NFC actually.

I know it won't be posible to troubleshoot if it doesn't happen again, but i thought maybe somebody knew of some kind of hardware alarm or something on this model.

Thanks for your replies!

Check also chrome not sending any notification, long press tap info and scroll to notification and turn off

I've checked Chrome. Notifications are on, but are all on "Silence", furthermore, the sound im talking about was not that of any notification it was, like B. Diddy said, more like that Emergency Alarms that are send nationwide sometimes.

I've just talked to technical support from Samsung for my country, their answer was that is probably was some malicious app or hard drive being too full. Needless to say, i had no suspicious apps installed when it happened neither was the memory even close to being full.

Did you also review the Emergency Alert History, under the Wireless Emergency Alerts menu?

I can't seem to find this menu, i've checked everything. Not sure if this is becouse of the model or region?

Yes! I found it there, but sadly it didn't have a history. Just options of recieving them that are greyed out.

Im starting to think i won't find an answer probably .

I even considered the possibilty of the sound just being imagined, but my girlfriend heard it too... it woke us up.

Let's see what happens , since it was once .

Thanks, i will install the app and see if it happens again. I think just to be safe (maybe paranoid) i'll restore to default the phone.
