Before I find out the hard way...S Pen question

I just got my new Note 8, migrating from the Note 5, into which I twice inserted the S Pen the wrong way. :-[ The first time I had to send it in to be repaired , and the second time I was able to extract the pen using a plastic straw I had split in half.

Having developed the habit of always feeling for the nib before inserting the pen, I was wondering if that same habit will be necessary with the Note 8.

Did Samsung fix that problem?

You can't insert the S Pen incorrectly. They fixed the problem
