Hi, I would be really thankful in having some help with seeing if my phone is ok. I have depression and anxiety and having being hacked before it caused me a huge amount of stress. I have avast which I dont think is any good. But there is so many apps on my galaxy thats its hard to find if somthing is malware. My incoming calls screen sometimes changes looking very different, also messages. when i was doing a search a google location map came up which said it was on apple i thought this was very odd, when i checked my duckduckgo it said it was turmed off due to a vpn I had no vpn turned on.just things seem to be very strange on my phone sometimes, could someone please help

100% that my cells are hacked. They just track my online activity.
1.Does factory reset woud delete all malicious software, even in root of android?

2. Is it possible chage IMEI number.

There's a pagan ritual that involves a black book, chicken bones, a goats head, and a master of the dark arts that has fixed your problem for many others ;)

You would have to ask B. Diddy the specifics though, since he's kind of our specialist in that area :p

Just saying your online activity is being tracked isn't evidence of being hacked. Modern computing includes all sorts of tracking from things like advertising to simply being recognized when logging into a website and not need two factor authentication. That's why when we ask for more details, we need specifics. What makes you think this supposed tracking is nefarious? Where are you seeing this info? What was your method of discovery?

As already explained, it's extremely hard to be truly hacked on Android. Even if you intentionally try to get yourself infected, there are many protections in place to block those attempts that you have little control over. We see it all the time where someone snooped around in their phone, saw something odd, immediately jump to being certain they are hacked, only to discover it was a benign process or system app.

To answer your questions, yes a factory reset should remove malware, but that would be useless in this case, as least not right now. When you bought the new phone, you claimed the attack followed you to it. If we assume for the moment this is true, it means you are doing something that leaves yourself vulnerable, and that must be addressed first. Otherwise the attack will come back. We can't even begin to address that until we have the info asked above to start tracking the issue down.

2. Changing your IMEI would be like trying to change the address to your home, you shouldn't do it. There's a chance it causes network instability if another phone with the same but real IMEI tries to log on. It may even be illegal to change it in some places. It's also just one of multiple ways to identify you. If changing that number were the solution, then the problem wouldn't have continued when you changed phones. The new phone's IMEI is already different from the last phone, yet you still seem to be affected.

You are still not answering our questions. HOW do YOU know "THEY" are tracking anything.

Details, specifics, please.

You aren't using the Facebook app are you? That app tracks you by design - and it does it to everyone. That's why I don't use the Facebook app at all, and I use an ad blocking app to keep from seeing ads elsewhere on my phone, even in the browser.

All we want to know is what specifically are you seeing that leads you to the conclusion that you are "hacked". It could very well be just the fact that you might overshare on social media apps that you've left all default settings on for.

Also, the IMEI is hardcoded in the hardware - kind of the point of it. There are supposedly apps that spoof the reporting of the IMEI, but you just don't know if those apps are infected with malware as well, so they aren't any real help either.

The book you're refering to is the Necrotelecomnicon, the phone book of the dead, I know it wel , and it's dark rituals should certainly not be attempted by novices.

This is getting to be a wild goose chase. You're getting lots of detailed responses with additional questions asking for more details on your part, but you're just giving very generic information. If you can't be more specific, I'm going to close this thread, as I don't feel it is going anywhere.

I vote close the thread. I mean they just responded to respond to some silliness but still have not provide one bit of extra detail. I mean it's fun just slumming around in here, some of the comments remind of a time not so long ago when you could joke and be silly, kinda hate to see it end, but anyone stumbling onto this thread in 2years is not going to get anything useful out of this.

Not sure which is worse, trying to help someone only for them to vanish like the OP, trying to help someone who is responding but isn't trying to help solve their own problem or the ones that never respond. While frustrating, at least the people who post and disappear respect our time, at least a little. They get our requests for more detail and then just ghost us. Not always as fun as this but that's just Bruce Hornsby and the Range.

That member PM'd me to request the thread re-opened. I agreed, but asked that they give some actual details, rather than vague generalizations.

BTW that Bruce Hornsby song was such a revelation back in the day. Still love listening to his stuff!:)

Vid you put your heart and soul into trying to help everyone... you invest a lot of time that isn't often rewarded. I can understand how that would be frustrating. Just remember your work will be here for posterity ;) You'll be helping people for years to come :D

Hello , my cell is hacked. Scam see everything I do. I think its Bluetooth related although my Bluetooth is disabled. What shall I do hurry pls ? I want my privacy back . Its Xiaomi redmi.

I just read though this thread ,, You were wanting help and others are trying to get more info. Your last post to this thread was 11:18 am yesterday .....and the last time you logged in was 1:10 am today.

Well you still did not add any replies to questions asked from others . It sounds like you are not in a hurry after all since I know you read all the replies in this thread without one reply back.

I will give you a chance to reply back but if you do not want to offer any more details this thread will be permanently closed and not reopened again.

Very odd considering this member PM'd me asking to keep the thread open for them. I agree with closing it now.
