I've never used a case on previous android or iphones, but this phone seems like an expensive accident waiting to happen.

Since I pop the back off once a day to swap batteries, I don't want a two piece (gel + hard) case, or one which is a pain to take on and off.

Any suggestions?

Any other case-owning battery swappers out there?

Thanks
Mike

Sorry, in my hast, I forgot to mention that:

I'm not concerned at all about scratching or scuffing of the phone.

I would like to get some protection from falls.

I would like some extra grip but I take it in & out of my pocket all day long so I don't want it soo grippy that it snags or tugs or is a hassle.

Hope this helps clarify,

Thanks,
Mike

Diztronic works well for this. It is easy on/off, and offers decent protection. I have dropped mine from waist high, several times and the phone has been undamaged, the case seemed to "deaden" the fall and absorb shock. I have been "battery swapping" instead of plugging in, for the past week or two, much preferred to trying to always keep my phone plugged in when I'm not using it.

Does the diztronic case slide in/out of pocket ok? is it too 'grippy'?

thx

I have 3 S3's in our family. To pay $10/month each ($30/month X 24 months) = $720 is too much.

I'm going to 'self-insure'.

If one happens to get destroyed, I could buy a Galaxy Nexus as a replacement for $400.

In 2 years, my S3 will be worth $100.

I feel lucky.

Of course, I'll feel more lucky if I get a case!

It slides in and out of a pocket easily, does not pick up lint or fuzz, looks good. Great value at $10, shipping included if you use Amazon Prime.

Based on the suggestion in this thread, I got the diztronic case.

My verdict: I LOVE IT!!!

(Mind you, I have absolutely no experience with cases. I've always gone naked with all my iphones & androids, but after nearly dropped my phone 3 time I figured it was a sign.

I had 2 concerns: I didn't want one too grippy so it was hard to take in & out of my pocket
This has the perfect balance of grip and slide.

I was also concerned about ease of taking it on & off when swapping batteries. NO PROBLEM.

TWO THUMBS UP!

(BTW, I ordered the body glove on sale for $4.99 so at least I'll have one other case to compare to.)

Thanks everyone!

Seidio innocase is a two piece case but I take it off twice a day with relative ease to switch out batteries. I have 3 batteries and 2 external chargers so my phone is never on a charger. And it adds minimal bulk to the phone.

Get the CPR Shield coverage from CPR Cell Phone Repair. I paid $30 for the year, if any accidental damage occurs, they fix it for a co-pay of $25.00!! No limit on how many times you can get it repaired. I went to the CPR in Orange County, California.
