Best 4.7" smartphone under $400?

I want to get a new smartphone running Android 5.0 or later.

I need a smartphone for communications, running and listening to music. That's about it. So I don't need a super fast CPU. Just something that provides a good user experience. I also want expandable storage.

And as a runner, I don't want a big phone. I'm shooting for something in the 4.7" ballpark. I might need to go up to 5.2" since that's how big phones are these days.

For 5.2" I am looking at the Nexus 5x and Xperia Z5.

Under 5", what should I consider?

etc? These seem like they are fast enough. Kinda turned off by them only supporting a 32 GB memory card.

The E is second generation so I want to avoid that.

Z5C and Z3C are under 5". The Z3C is under $400. I heard Sony phones are good for music.

Z5 Compat will be good enough, but i think it's +400$ !!
The Z3+ compat within the price range though
