Best Android Keyboard?

Have all the usual suspects and Google keyboard is most accurate for me.

The Google Keyboard wasn't for me. The autocorrect is utter garbage and the Swype functionality is inferior to native Swype. So for me it's Swype when I'm lazy and Swiftkey when I feel like actually thumb typing, although I do turn gesture typing off when I do that.

I have been a Swiftkey owner since the earliest days. A number of years ago, I realized that it doesn't work with documents over a page or two. If all you do is text a couple of sentences at a time, SK is tops. If you need to do more than that, it's broken. Technically, you can call it lag, but once the response time for a keypress is over 10 seconds in duration, I call it broken. This is the case across Android versions, across phones, across word processing apps, across the years. It's thoroughly documented and a commonly-known issue with SK.

Once a year I go on their VIP forum and bring up this issue - nothing is ever done to fix it. I suspect it's an inherent flaw in their app design. How can a product that is so good on one hand, suck so bad on the other?

Since I often work in docs that are more than a page or two long, I use Google keyboard, and have for years now. I prefer the prediction of SK, but hey, it doesn't work. I've also used most of the other leading keyboards and I find the stock Samsung keyboard to be quite good. But, Google keyboard is reliable, accurate, well-designed and fast in docs over a page in length.

I use Swiftkey and have tried several others. I use symbols a LOT of the time and need them on the main screen for speed. Problem for me is being able to see them without wearing glasses. Many of the SK themes have the symbols so light making them unusable. Anyone have ideas for that? I have written to SK suggesting the ability to make them bold. I guess the only solution is finding another font I like with a bolder typeface.

The % is on the Q key on the SwiftKey keyboard

This is SwiftKey keyboard. No % symbol on Q key

Also, where is the option for a number row on top? I can't find it. I agree it is hard to see the symbols. You almost have to memorize them. That means sticking to one kb which I seldom have. I know the Sammy keyboard best. Now if the % key were on the SwiftKey keyboard and I could get a number row in portrait mode I would switch.

That is possible if you choose show number row in all layouts.

OK, thanks I finally found it. I prefer number row only in portrait view. Now I can't really see what I'm typing in landscape view. It would help if Tapatalk didn't have a huge boarder up top blocking what little view I have.

BTW, been experimenting with SwiftKey. Is it possible that it uses more battery than Samsung kb? My battery % just dropped really fast while typing.

Well, the auto correction is not that good, but still I like working with it...

+1 on the Blackberry. Ended up returning my Priv due to heat issues, but did like the android keyboard.

Have you updated the device? Because my device got much better these last two days. It got hot when I first got it, especially when installing new apps, but since I don't do it anymore, it does not get hot anymore.

The Priv got so hot just playing a game I actually burned my fingers.

Please list the keyboard you enjoy the most, i have tried quite a few but they all seem to suck when it comes to auto correct. Please let me know which has the best auto correct in your opinion...
I just started using Fleksy, and so far I like it a lot better than Swiftkey...

I've tried swift key and swype and both of them worked horribly for me while swiping for some reason. Perhaps they needed some time to learn my typing behavior but I uninstalled both of them within a week of installing.
Google keyboard is the best for me. It looks awesome, it swipes awesome!
