Best Buy $100 gift card for pre-orders. Is that a good way to go?

Talked to a local BB rep and they told me the $100 gift card was only for pre orders. I think the reps have no idea either about their own promotion after reading the terms and conditions on their website. I guess ill find out on launch day.

Yeah, they don't know. I walked into best buy on either Wednesday or Thursday last week and asked about the gift card offer. I had to tell the rep it was in the ad.
To make it worse they had ads sitting right on the counter in front of them. You would think they would at least look at the mobile phone part of the ad.

I went into my BB last Saturday. The rep told me the $100 GC would only apply if you lease or do the EZ pay option. If you buy the phone outright you do not get the $100 GC.

I went in BB early last week to look at the G3, as there was a $200 Gift card for buying that.
I was told if I bought the phone outright for the $399 advertised price- I get NO gift card.
If I bought the phone through the Next Progra- I would get the gift card.
However- the price of buying the phone through the Next Plan was $449. The $399 price was only for outright purchase.

They did say if ANY phone was bought without contract, no Gift Card would be given. The phone needed to be purchased under Next, or new contract.

When I pre-ordered my LG G4 at Best Buy Mobile Memorial Day weekend they had a G4 I could hold but it wasn't charged. Got a $50 Gift Card for pre-ordering and was promised a $100 Gift Card when I picked it up. The sales person and my wife talked me into getting the plastic back instead of the leather. Said I really will want a case for it which makes the leather a useless option. I'm seriously considering ordering the case from shop Android and having it in hand when I pick up the phone.

That isn't accurate. There is nothing in the ad language that says that. The only caveat is that you have to pre-order and purchase... I had my local manager sign my sheet saying authorized for gift card

Maybe I got a misinformed rep. Another poster in this thread echoed my experience though.

Which carrier did you buy the phone for? Did you ask for a price match too? (Assuming your carrier charged less than BB).

If you read the fine print concerning the 100 buck gift card, it clearly states the offer is valid through July 4th, which is well after the launch time.

Bullsh ...on them ....I just preordered the att and I'm buying for $669
