Does anyone know if this scenario will work out for the Best Buy sale tomorrow:

My wife and I (just recently married) are both NE2 eligible on individual accounts and want to merge to a family plan. Can we both get new Fascinates?

I'd bet a plate of Turkey that you can, but I can't say for certain. You've both met the terms of your contracts, and should qualify for discounts regardless of how you want to renew them.

Im thinking of switching back to Verizon to get a Fascinate myself. Already have one line which is being used but I may convert to family plan and then add a phone. Not sure yet.

OK so it turns out that the sale started today online... so I went through the process and the site said I had to call in if it had anything to do with changes to a family plan.

So I called in and spoke with a rep... and she told me that Bestbuy is unable to merge two accounts.

BUT she could upgrade us today for the sale price and we can go to Verizon and have them merge the contracts before we activate the phones (which will arrive between 12/3-12/9 which i thought was a long wait but whatever)

I pushed her pretty hard with questioning that she wasn't screwing us by locking us into contracts today that they wouldn't be able to alter and her supervisor said that the contracts don't take effect until we activate the phones (which was repeated in a terms and conditions recording that we agreed to) and we can change the terms every day til then if we wanted.

So we went ahead and pulled the trigger. Two free Fascinates on their way to us.

So Corey, that turkey bet sounds like a push to me ;-)

I am a bit concerned that the site may have glitched out, but I have an SF coming for free. I am upgrading a secondary line on a Family share so did not expect to receive a deal like this. It went through, however so I guess I am really psyched! (just wish could P/u in store)

Now to choose the best case possible and wait for Froyo with the rest of you. :)

YES,YES....check Samsclub on-line for more Andriods.

I have shared family plan but with 400 minutes shared. I have the secondary phone. All Verizon plans require 700 minutes for upgrade with new phone to the primary line and $100-200 for the secondary line android phone. I upgraded the secondary line only...without changing my current plan, and pay only the data feature at Best Buy...ON LINE. No better deal anywhere now, my corporate plan was not cheaper....free at Best Buy...ON LINE.

In regards to the OP. Since you both had fulfilled your contract requirements you simply could have added a line to one of your plans and ported the number from the other plan as the new second line. Best Buy is able to do both of these steps on their own so I don't know why they didn't suggest it. Either way, it sounds like you'll have what you need in the long run. Enjoy your new phones!

It's possible, but I believe he then would have been charged the $10 new line fee.
