Best Buy demos

I know every year Best Buy has put out the Samsung demos right after the phones have been announced and I'm sure this year will be no exception. The question is when will they actually have them in the stores so we can look at them? My local Best Buy last year had the S10 out about 3 to 4 days after the announcement which is out by the weekend. Would that be the case this year?

Tricky question this year as Asia supply seems to be out of whack (although, granted, Samsung production primarily comes from Vietnam).

I wonder if the Coronavirus will delay some of the shipments this year?

It's delaying the supply lines - a lot of the smaller components were coming from China.

every store and every release is different. you could always ask your local best buy. my local best buy is very seldom early with displays.

I have a feeling that Best Buy won't put any demos out until it gets closer to Feb 21, the pre-order date.

Sadly the supply chains are impacted by the virus. Even more sadly for China, since food and medical supplies are severely impacted as well.

I do hope they put demo units before pre order opens, so that we can play around and get a good feeling of different size and color options.

So the store closest to home (the one I went to) is getting it on the 20th. The main store is getting it a few days earlier.

Thanks for the update. Makes sense they'd go on display on pre-order day.

My local Best Buy never tells me anything about when the demos might be on display. It could be the day before and they would tell me "we have no idea when we will have the demos out on display". Oh they know it's just they are sworn to Samsung not to say anything. The same with my local T-Mobile store they no nothing even though they do. I'm sure if they say something they could get fired.

Nice I'll stop by early next week to take a look at the flip. Hopefully by then the demo unit is not broken

The Flip is in a plexiglass display. The Samsung rep was actually setting it up and while doing so said I could play with it until he had to seal it up.

Ah makes sense, I was wondering it was brave of them to put it in the open

In the videos I thought it looked like a large makeup compact lol. But in person looks really nice. It feels nice in the hand, the hinge feels solid and the display I expect no less from Samsung as far as eye popping color and sharpness. The crease for me wasn't really noticeable at angles but you can tell when you run your fingers through it but for me it wouldn't kill me. Really polished feeling phone. Surprised how solid it felt.
