Best Buy demos

The price though that kills it .
It's on purpose anyway, Samsung isn't mass producing it and still more of a flex for Samsung on what they can do and getting ahead in the foldable race. I can easily see within couple years that this form factor getting super refined and becoming more mainstream. But the price isn't going down

Yeah not cheap.

I will add to previous thoughts about this phone...

Folded, the Flip didn't seem that bulky and thick so it wouldn't be bad carrying in pocket. Much better than the Fold.

Nice to play with.

What's the fold going for ?

Yeah and even though the rep said Note level specs it should be a good performing phone (except battery maybe). But the size when opened is not that different from the candy bar sized phone available and people manage it in their pockets so no real need. And the front notification window is useless... Needed the front to be RAZR size.

Still a novelty phone and paying for the novelty. But it's a nice phone.

Make it a little wider and longer closed, and not any thicker when closed, so when it opens its larger than the S20 Ultra... And a front display that takes entire area of front cover when closed... Then we're getting there and maybe worth a premium.

The Fold I believe is $2,000. The Flip is actually cheaper then the Ultra.

Nice thanks for sharing .. I went into my local place and they didn't have it yet .. I will have to pop in Tuesday night...

The Flip is in a plexiglass display. The Samsung rep was actually setting it up and while doing so said I could play with it until he had to seal it up.

That's pretty cool that you were able to get hands on time.

Just stopped by Worst Buy and the Samsung guy said they will have em on Friday.

Just stopped by my local AT&T store. They had a pink S20 and a blue S20 Plus on display. Unfortunately, the phones were turned off and charging. The store reps said they could not turn them on. I really wanted to check some of the settings, particularly if there was a way to turn 120hz display on full-time, given today's news that it's 'dynamic' like the awful default OnePlus 7 Pro and Pixel 4 implementation -_-

Phones look very sleek and slim. Just as the dimensions would suggest, they are ever so slightly smaller in the hand than their S10 predecessors, though they feel almost exactly the same. Like several YouTubers, I thought the look and feel of the extra slim metal chassis on the side is less comfortable than the more rounded ones of the S10e, and even the S10.

The display is indeed a bit less curved than before. However, those like Max Weinbach claiming it's the same "2.5D" glass as on the Pixel 4 are a bit off the mark. It is ever so slightly more curved than that. However it is noticeably less curved than on the S10.

It's not the case with the local Bestbuy store:

they are happy to tell me when the demo units will arrive. often, they arrive even before i call (which is merely 1-2 days after the big samsung presentation).

well, i just called now before i typed this: they do not have the S20 (various models) yet today, and the Samsung rep has left already, so they don't know until he comes back tomorrow morning. HOWEVER, the guy says: well...er...here we do have the Z.

i went: huh? the Z fold phone?

he said: yes.

upon further questioning, he confessed that the Z is INSIDE a glass case so customers may not handle it.

Just FYI, stopped my local Best Buy here in the Washington DC area and they unfortunately did not have the S20 lineup on display yet.
