Best buy hosed me

What about the upgrade 2year contract price? Does that equal out to be the same or is BB still cost more.

2 year price is the same (199) but bb and radioshack dont require you to mail in a rebate like sprint does.

ok... there is some one year confusion here

sprint has three options.

1. full upgrade - aka standard upgrade - $150 discount on regular lines to get an upgrade at 22 mos and sign a new two year contract.

2. early upgrade - this is the 1 year on a regular line of service - $75 credit

3. premier upgrade - same price as #1 but on the main line only every 12 months

hope this clears some things up.

Make an appointment for that morning at your Sprint store. You will get added to the list when you check in bypassing anyone standing in line behind you or if there is a line out the door.

1 Year $75 off Upgrade

I have pre-ordered 2 Evo's from Best Buy, one for me and one for my wife. I am eligible for the $199 price due to my Sprint Premiere cred. My wife is not and I am planning on using the $75 off to buy hers since she is eligible for the 1 year deal. Now, I have spoken to a few people at Best Buy concerning this. I have been told by Best Buy personnel that I can buy it using the 1 year eligibility discount but they are unsure of what the retail price is going to be. They did mention the BB retail price will be higher than Sprint's but they would be able to price match Sprint's retail price.

The last person I spoke to at BB told me to call back on May 30th and they should know what the retail price is going to be. So, my plan is to have BB price match the Sprint retail price and deduct the $75 1yr eligibility discount for my wife's evo. I will be calling back a couple of times before June 4th to confirm that so that hopefully I won't get screwed. If any BB employees read this, can you confirm that this is doable?

I have tried this with many phones that i have bought at best buy. I always get a no. Tried at different Best Buy's too

ok here is my problem maybe someone can tell me what is going on i preordered mine at my local bestbuy and i am a premier customer and am available for an upgrade on my primary line. bestbuy called me and said that i have to pay an additional 199.99 on top of the 50 dollar gift card that i had to purchase. wtf? why?

No that is not the case. You will get charged the 199.99 then use your 50 GC towards the purchase.

i sure hope so thanks bigrick u calmed me down to go talk to them . lol i was pissed off i ended up hanging up on the lady lol

See:

The future of cellphones is finally here. With Sprint just recently announcing the pricing of their new HTC Evo 4G smartphone at $199.99 after a mail-in-rebate for new customers, (or BestBuy, The Shack and other participating retailers with no mail-in-rebate at a firm $199.99.)

the lady said it was gonna be 249.99 total

If that were true yours would be the only Best Buy in the country doing that. I expect she was just confused and passing on incorrect information.

As others have said. The charge will be 199.99 plus applicable sales taxes and you can apply the GC to the purchase. now how much sales tax will be depends on what state you are in. Most states it will be calculated on the $199.99 but that is not always the case. The one I know for sure is CA which calculates the sales tax on the pre-rebate price, whatever that will end up being.

I try to explain how upset I was that they sold us the Hero phones without so much as mentioning in three weeks there was a superphone coming out that would make mine look like a kids toy

This isn't really their fault - always do your research.

I live in Cali to and feel your pain...we are getting taxed to death ....but i gotta get this phone!

i told my boss the same thing. Oh wait i am the boss :p
i am taking the day off actually. It's my bday

Then taking off 1 month to watch the World Cup!! woohoo

OH YOU.........(INSERT ANYTHING)!!
I'm taking off for the world cup too just not the whole month

I try to explain how upset I was that they sold us the Hero phones without so much as mentioning in three weeks there was a superphone coming out that would make mine look like a kids toy, but before I could get going my wife lays the guy out. I felt bad for him but she didn't say anything that wasn't true, she totally told him what our issues were and what exactly he could do to fix it...

I feel for the employee that had to deal with you guys. There is absolutely no grounds for anyone to get upset about a new product coming out a little while after you purchase something. New products, especially electronics, are in constant model phases and new stuff comes out nonstop.

If you purchase a 2010 car, and the salesman doesn't tell you the 2011 model comes out in a few weeks, what then?
What if you purchase a Sony TV and a newer model comes out with better/more features for the same price?

Or, god forbid, you purchase an Iphone, not knowing a new one will be out in a few weeks/months??? See how much sympathy you get from Apple f'boys with that story.
