You can see how the screen looks. And Best Buy demo phones are often functional enough to use the cameras and even email photos to yourself.

Best Buy likely has demo models at the store but won't display them until Friday most likely.

Any word for us who reserved a phone if we will be able to pre order after the event tomorrow from samsung.com

I have to work Friday so I won't be able to pre order unless it's before or after work. I have wifi at my kiosk at the fleamarket but I don't trust putting my debit card info in it there. I might have to wake up early to order.

Jewels, I still remember last year when the note 8 came out you made your avatar from the note 8. I copied that and still have it somewhere on my Note 8..

I won't be preordering as I'll just go to a carrier store on release day to grab one, but I will go to Best Buy Friday or Saturday to check out the Note 9s in person.

Let me know if they have cases yet. Usually they will have them in the back at least a week before launch. That is how I bought my s8 plus Defender. They had it in stock just not on the sales floor.

I doubt they would have units in stores already before the event on Thursday. Having them on hand before release date? Probably.

The s8 plus the following morning they had the display units already out at the local Best Buy. I was shocked because the only one in my county is small and they never have anything in stock when I want to buy something.

Yes, the access for the S-Pen looks to be a bit larger than my Note 8 cases. I'm not sure if this is just a manufacturer design difference or if there is any substance to the larger access "cut-out"

What the heck? For one item? I'm sorry but that would make me not want to shop there either. I remember there was a discussion last year or the year before I think around the time either the note 7 or note8 came about people having problems with that same thing. Crazy. Yep. Best Buy uses something called The Retail Equation that tracks customer returns. If they think you're returning items too much (or returning items in a fraudulent manner), they'll ban you from returning items at their store for a certain period of time. Apparently buyer's remorse is considered "fraudulent activity" despite the $35 restocking fee they charge for returning/exchanging devices. *eye roll*

They are ridiculous. I would understand if someone is doing it repeatedly. Not once.

In 2001, my girlfriend negotiated a full-refund for a then-hot item (portable DVD player) which had been out for repair for six weeks via Best Buy by that point. Though I'd already gone on to buy a Panasonic portable DVD player that wasn't at issue rather it was her umbrage (she took on my case as an exercise of her iron will) that was remarkable to witness. She also got a store credit, which I used that same day to buy some pricey DVDs, of $120. I'd almost forgotten this long ago incident where I'd seen her restrained fury unleashed. At the time, her son was working as a Voicestream 'barker' at this particular Best Buy location right up front at the store's entrance. Cell phone sales were red hot in this era too and the young fellow had moved a lot of phones because he had his mother's 'gift'. Sadly, my sweetie passed away from the side-effects of cancer in early 2016. She would be smiling in my recounting the Best Buy incident so many years later.

Thanks... we love our "Home away from Home" and it's fun getting to see different areas of the country instead of just going to the same beach with it (and the old one) every weekend like we did for five years straight!
