Best Buy or Radio Shack

I'm stuck on where I should pre order. Radio shack has a leaked price still just a leak and not confirmed so if it's the price is incorrect and Best Buy is cheaper then I'll be stuck with the $50 Radio Shack gift card that I will never use. Does anyone remember if the Evo 4g were sold the same price for BB or RS last year? Does BB have restocking fees?

If you are eligible for the full upgrade price, then the price will be the same whether you buy at BB or RS. However, if you buy outright or are only eligible for the one year, then RS is your better bet, they usually have a cheaper full retail price than BB, and on the one year upgrade, you did get a better deal at RS (at least when I bought the Evo) than going to Sprint or BB.

I am eligible for upgrade so I guess you're right that it wont matter where I get it from. BB do not use mail in rebate so I have a feeling they will sell it for the same price as RS. And just confirmed they don't have restocking fee anymore so I think I'm safer going to BB to pre order. Atleast I have more use for BB giftcard incase I decide to return the phone. Thanks for the input.

I'm going to preorder it at a sprint store and BB.

No real reason.

Just rather be safe then, sorry I guess.

Don't really see a difference unless you hate best buy or something. Last year I did radio shack with no issues. This year I might do Best Buy because I want to get a Nexus S before the EVO 3D comes out and radioshack does not have the nexus s

What I liked about Radio shack last year was they had extra Evo on release day. Atleast the one by my house. Best Buy was further and every Evo was spoken for and they also had a longer pre-order list so you're werent guaranteed to get a phone that day.

I have a close friend on radio shack n the supervisor told me they have a meeting Monday to b notify that the price n release dates r coming Monday and all the info about that phone I'm just hoping so cuz I'm so excited that I can't wait til Monday to find out

You crack me up man...lol...you have one hell of sense of humor....and that avatar....

Anyhow, monday would be a great day for Sprint to announce it to the world to try to combat some of the headlines that Apples WWDC is going to create.

If your like me; You are under a year so radio shack's 100 turn in helps take a bite outta the total. I agree that a BB card is more usefull tho.

You will pay more getting your phone at Best Buy, their regular retail price is $150 more than everyone else and that is what you pay taxes on. (This is irrelevant if you live in a no sales tax state.) When I got my evo last year at Best Buy I got taxed on $599 instead of $449 that radio shack and Sprint were calculating off of. So a difference to me of about $15.

Thanks, if this was Facebook I'd hit the LIKE button on your post. LoL

But this isn't Facebook, so the avatar is a little much I'll agree on that.

Well I plopped down the cash and pre-ordered my EVO 3D through BB today. I like not having to deal with the rebates but more than that. BB also has that new Buy Back Program going on where you get a percentage back on your phone when you are ready to upgrade to a new one. For me that works out great.

Are you going to pay to participate in that Buy Back program? A bit steep to have to pay like 60 or 70 bucks to get around 250 back if you return it in less than a year...

Pay 60-70 now get $250 later and not have to worry about paying for a new phone come upgrade time other than paying for the buyback program again. All in all I'd say it's a pretty good deal. Especially since I'm paying for this phone w/ almost nothing but gift cards that I've saved up or earned through reward programs.

The point behind that program though is to upgrade early, in other words, before you are up for a full contract renewal which would qualify you for a price in the 200 to 250 range depending on the phone. Unless you're a Sprint Gold Premier customer, you will only be eligible for the full upgrade after 2 years. With the BB buy back program, you will only get back about 50% of the retail cost of the phone until up to one year, after that it drops off even more. So after 2 years, you might just get the 60 bucks back that you paid to be part of that program. If you keep your phone for only 3 or 6 months and then feel the need to upgrade early to the latest and greatest phone, then you only get 250 to 300 back and you get to pay full price for the new phone. Factor in the cost for the buy back program and this is starting to not look like such a great deal after all. The only saving grace is that BB has higher retail prices for the phone so you do get more money back, I think the Evo 4G cost 650 retail from them compared to 500 at RS and Sprint. The catch is....you have to buy retail from them again when you upgrade early which means high retail price and you're screwed, once again.

Not worth it in my opinion.

I might try this, so by the time the samsung within comes to sprint I can trade my evo3D for it :-)

I like to stir the pot haha
