Best Buy Warning

Keurig coffee makers have a high return half of them don't get hot enough

2 defective phones with dead pixels. A 4K tv dead out f the box and a couple of keurig coffee makers that were defective too. Sometimes their policy is not fair.
TRE also monitors several other big national retailers like Macy’s. So they can link your credit or debit card to Macy’s as well and ban you from both sites.

That is the worst part. I don't like my info being stored by third party with all these data breaches. Especially my card info. In the long run also puts credit card and banks at risk with fraud when there is a massive data breach. I don't trust a shady third party to have the highest security.

OP: Are we talking about returns as in getting refunds or exchanges? Exchanges should never count against anyone especially if the product is defective.

I've only ever done exchanges and it's usually only been one exchange per year. I've never asked for a refund on anything at BestBuy.

No it's not
Exactly! I just read a BestBuy receipt from when I exchanged an S8+ case in June. I accidentally ordered the S8 case instead on the website.

Nowhere does it say that you can be banned or that they share your info with a third party to monitor such things.

Never pay cash for anything at Best Buy. I believe that if it is over $200. they will send you a company check which takes a month of Sundays to receive.

Best Buy just plains sucks but's it's the only game in town.

Month of Sunday's. Lmao. Love that saying.

Yes it does. Like it said I've done it multiple times. I'm and elite plus member. I've done it .my wife Returns stuff for me a lot. They never ask her for anything but the receipt.

I'm glad it worked for you, it did not work for me. So no. It doesn't work for everyone.

Yep. With Circuit City again and HHgegg mostly gone too. You have Wal-Mart and Target but they don't carry as big of selection.

The Best buy near me sucks anyway. They don't keep a big stock of cases and tablets, phones, etc anyway and I don't drive 35 miles to the next closest one.

Next time I buy a Tablet I will probably get it at Sams knowing best Buy return policy is like this now. Costco is almost 40 miles from me so we didn't renew and they too don't carry huge selections at the store.

People just need to stop returning everything they buy cheap or not and they won't have this issue. I never buy unless I am 100% sure that in am going to keep it. Too many people have buyers remorse and they shouldn't be buying anything in that case because they are abusing the system and it's not fair to the company or to others who actually have a VALID reason to return their item.

I agree that people shouldn't abuse the return policy but not liking an item is a valid reason for a return.

I usually do quite a bit of research on items I want to buy but in the end its owning the product for several days for me to determine if I like something or not. In store displays on a phone I want is not enough to determine if I will like it in the end. I need to know how that phone feels in the pocket for a few days and how well it performs.

I am not going to buy something and be like "well I don't like it but I guess I'll keep it" lol

They do. It's in the receipt fine print at every retailer you can imagine, save for Costco
Not true. Here's a Best buy receipt from this past week. Nowhere does it say you can be banned and none of my Best buy's have statements by the registers claiming this. There is also nothing on their webpage where you are directed to view all return policies claiming you can be banned.

Interesting. Is the return limit captured in any policy or fine print?
None. The closest it says is "If we caution you or deny your return, you may request a copy of your Return Activity Report by calling 1-800-652-2331."

Nowhere does it state they can ban you from returns.

Thanks for posting this Tyler. Best Buy is going to get their willy in a pinch real soon over this. Besides privacy policy issues Best Buy has broken a Federal law here.....

"In addition to retailers being required to accept the return of defective items, federal law provides a "Cooling-Off Rule " giving buyers three days to cancel purchases of $25 or more. Under this rule, the right to cancel for a full refund extends until midnight of the third business day after the sale. The rule applies to sales at the buyer's home or workplace, at facilities rented by the seller on a temporary basis, or at locations otherwise away from the seller's normal retail location."

Trust me they will Ban you. It's happened to me.

I'd be someone's worst day ever if they rejected a major return. If spend the whole day talking to MGMT and every costumer that listened to me. Kick me out of the store, I'd go to another store and so on
