Best case for the HTC thunderbolt

Personal preferance really. Otterbox is supposed to be fairly rugged from what I've heard. I personally just use a silicon case for most of my cellular devices.

Otterbox defender was kind of a letdown for me, silicone case always comes partially off, the holster already broke after 2 days. the screen cover is open at the top where the ear piece is, dust gets in between the cover and phone. The defender for the iphone had a dust screen over the ear piece.
This is the first otterbox product i actually stopped using. I used to swear by them. The case is still durable as all get out but the little irritations were enough for me to stop using it.

Otterbox is the best I would never use anything else. I do not have any dust issues as others have been reporting

If I were to use a case it would be one that have an extended battery in it. Those are sweet.

If you are using an extended battery, the Sedio Active Extended case is fantastic! Very pleased with mine!

Does anyone use a regular screen protector under the Otterbox Defender's screen protector? I have heard some people say not to because of the clearance between the phone's screen and screen protector of the Otterbox. Does anyone know? I was thinking about getting this case but I was not sure if it is safe to use a regular screen protector with it. I was also considering the Seidio Convert or Active case. Thanks everyone for your help.

I am using the Seidio "Platinum" which is the Best Buy retail package for the Convert/Rugged. I picked it up because I was travelling and wanted a rugged case right away. I like the "hardness" of the case - I have used Otterbox for all my Blackberries - but I have a few gripes about the Seidio. 1 - No seen protector in the retail package (different on-line); I got a Zagg and love it. 2 - part of the matte finish on the soft parts rubbed off into a fine white powder, so it is part Matte and part Glossy. 3 - once on, I could NOT get the inner 2 piece sleeve to release so I could do a battery pull. I had to partly slit the edges with a razor knife, so I now own the case for sure.

I am interested in the Trident cases, but Seidio is the only one out if I decide to get an extended battery.

why would you need another screen protector?

I use this case as well, and love it. When i bought mine at BB, they had a package that included a zagg screen protector and a generic car charger. All three items were less that the list price of the case. I always use all thre layers, so I have not experiences the rubbing off of the matte finish you speak of. The first timei attempted to remove the inner cse, it took a while to figure it out. there were no clear instructions with the cae. I google'd it and figured out how to do it. You press on the bottom peice. once you figure it out, it workes easily every time. I guess that's by design, to preven it from coming off inadvertently.

overall a very good case.

I just didn't want to take off the one that is already on there in case I decide to change to a different case sometime (like an extended battery case) that would require a regular screen protector and because I have a very hard time getting them on if I had to put another one on.

ahh ok i understand now.

never thought of that. My only think that the otter boxes are a pain in the @@ to take on and off.

i wouldn't want to do this often

I got the POP case and on the sides the silicone started to come up and stick outward so I'm thinking about going for the seidio active x case

Any case from Trident. I have the aegis from my tb and a friend with a case by them for his iPhone. They offer great protection, awsome build quality and I love the look. Also I find the unlock button way easier to press with the case on.

I really, really tried to like the Otterbox, I swear by them, I have one on both ipods and iphone. to me the build quality has gone down a bit.. Maybe I have a bad case with the silicone case always coming loose when using the holster. Im going to try the trident when they come out with black.

I looked at the trident cases and I think I will go with one of those instead thinking about getting the kraken II series for the HTC thunderbolt
