Best cases for Google Pixel 2

I've bought a couple of cheap cases to tide me over until I decide on daily drivers.
I'm using the Ringke Fusion the most right now and it's really pretty good considering I bought it for like $4.
I'd recommend it for sure.
I'm going to be a little crazy today and go buy the google carbon fabric case.
It's in stock at the Best Buy near my office and I'm going to stop by and pick it up this morning.
I think the price is ridiculous (as was the phone lol) but I think I'm going to like it and I'll tell my wife it was $10. LMFAO!!!
I've pre-ordered the rhinoshield bumper, which was my daily on my 6P for most of the past 2 years and hopefully it comes earlier than their projections and is a little slimmer than the one on my 6P.
The rhinoshield saved my 6P a couple of times, so I have a soft spot for that one.
Dropped my 6P from about 6 feet onto concrete twice and only scuffed up the bumper. Really good concept with that one.
Anyway, I'll come back with my impression of the google fabric case after I get it. I do like slim...

I am really worried about these trade in offers. I hope mine works as it is supposed to. Reading all of these posts make me feel like google or whatever third party company that is inspecting these phones are not doing a good job and ultimately hurting googles customers trust in the long run. Mine was supposed to be delivered yesterday and just checked tracking and its still in transit on its way

Went to Best Buy yesterday and purchased the Google Carbon fabric case and it's great as long as you forget how much it costs. It is definitely a ripoff, but if money is no object, it's a terrific case.
It's thin, light weight and fits perfectly.
How will it hold up? I'm not sure. I think it will be ok. I'm very careful with my phones and have already pre-ordered the rhinoshield bumper, so I'll have 2 go to cases/bumpers in addition to the 3 very cheap cases I purchased that are pretty good too.
Time will tell but right now I'm enjoying this google fabric case and definitely recommend to those who like their cases thin and light weight.

I just got my MNML case for Pixel 2XL and have been using it for half a day. I find it too slippery and I don't like that the buttons are flush with the case and hard to find now. I'm going to go back to my Vinve slim fit case, which isn't much bulkier, but a lot easier to hold.

My Carved case came in today for my Pixel 2. The back is a nice wood and feels good to hold in the hand. You lose a bit of tactile feeling in the side buttons, but they still click well (attributed more to the good design of the Pixel 2 itself). The case is just a tad thicker than I would prefer, since I like the ultra-minimalist feel in general, but the design was too good to pass up so I ordered it anyway. I presume it would keep the phone well intact.

I had an older Carved case for my 6P for about a year and it's durability has held up well, so I would expect the same of this one. Overall I would recommend it if you're in the market for something similar.

Need to find a thin but protective case for my 2 XL. I've tried the Caseology Vault and Parallax and the Spigen Neo-Hybrid. All make our very thin-edged phone fairly bulky.

From what I've read, the NMNL, Layer, Peel cases are not very protective.

I think the issue is the robust cases do not follow the curved face of the screen. They extend high enough to protect the screen, yes. But they do so at a perpendicular and add like 50% or more to the bulk of the edge

I ordered the Ringke Fusion which followed the back curve well so that the phone didn't feel much thicker at all. Hoping the XL version does the same for the screen side.

In fact, this might explain why some of the cases get "graded down" on Amazon for being hard to remove. If they "curl" at all around the edge to the face the phone would have to be really locked in by the lip........

Considering the Spigen Thin-Fit for my next try.

Anybody that recieved the Ringke Bevel, are the striations on the inside or outside?

I have the Spigen Thin Fit case and I really like the rubberized feel that makes it less slippery but looks great. The cutouts are accurate and don't cover the power and volume buttons.

Does it have a "thin" edge or is it flat? One of the Amazon comments was that it leaves a "valley" between the flat/active screen and the edge of the phone.

I hear you. I ordered 9 different cases from Amazon. There were a couple that I sent back before my phone arrived because I didn't like them aesthetically in person but most of them I tried on before sending back. in total I tried:

Caseology Parallax
KuGi TPU case with "leather" insert
AnoKe "Slim Thin" TPU case
MNML in red
Spigen Neo Hybrid
Spigen Thin Fit
Caseology Vault
Caseology Legion
Ringke Fusion

I felt like finding a case for my phone was like a bad version of the three little bears. One case was too bulky, another was too thin and offered no protection. The one that seemed "just right" to me was the Ringke Fusion. It makes the phone thicker for sure because it has a raised lip around the screen, but I want a lip there to protect the screen. It's nowhere near as bulky as many of the cases on the list but also not as thin as say the MNML. I felt like it actually offers some protection for the phone without adding too much bulk.
