Not sure about how the Defender would be on the GS8+ but at the thickest points on top and bottom of the case, it's thinner than the Defender on my GS7.
They used to be okay but the newer ones seem more flimsy. I remember buying one for the s6 and returning it to sams because the rubber part was permanently bent right out of the box. Bulkiness wise isn't much different than the Defender. I'd go with the Defender for the S8.
I received the Samsung Silicon Cover today. Unfortunately Amazon sent me the one for the regular S8 instead of the +. However I did not realize this until opening it up so I got to feel it. It does feel silky and the soft-touch finish is very nice. I will be receiving the correct version today but I'm excited about this case.
I'm currently using the other Samsung case, the clear protector in Black. It is really nice and fits perfectly. It will prevent scratching on the back but this one obviously isn't designed for falls, and I'm OK with that. I really like it to show off the phone but still protect it a bit.
Some cool cases. I found a cheap case on Amazon and ordered it and it came in the wrong colour. This happened now for the third time with two different companies. I am giving up for now and may just coat this thing in elmer's glue or plastidip.
i actually like this idea. been looking for a "bumper case" for my last several phones, and no one makes them anymore...not since my S4. i don't need something to cover the whole back of the phone, just the sides...as long as it's thick enough, it will protect the whole back (plus all edges) when dropped.
The evutec aeger ballistic nylon case came in today. Pictures will come tomorrow. In the meantime I'm liking the case right now. Built in magnetic plate so I can use it on magnetic mounts without a sticker magnet, although I'm sure it disables wireless charging with the case on (I don't wirelessly charge). It is a bit thicker than I would like, but that's due to built in plate I'm sure, and the fact that the case has a slight curve to it to fit the palm of your hand better. The nylon feels pretty cool, has a different texture to it. Honestly thought it'll be a bit more grippy than it is, but not complaining.
One thing I don't like as much is the sides. It has three lines, or ridges. Aesthetically not pleasing to my eyes, but I'll deal with it.
