Costco cell phone rep told me Verizon offers an extended return policy for items bought after black Friday. Not sure if it's on all VZ phones or just bought through Costco. The biggest downside is having to wait for the extended return policy to end, before being able to claim the gift card. That's why I'm thinking to get it when their sale starts, 11/16, wait two weeks and then claim the gift card.

Actually I'm still correct. The $250 off that Best Buy gives you is a down payment on the phone, not a recurring bill credit. Combined with the $450 I got for my S8+, that would equal to $700 off the phone as down payments, not as recurring bill credits. Yes, this does effectively lower the monthly cost of the phone, but you can pay it off at any time for the $300 price.

If you don't believe me, here's a picture of my verizon account online showing that I have paid $600 to date (I did the deal 2 weeks ago when the discount was $150, not $250).

Wow. Thank you so much for clarifying this. In that case, I am hoping Best Buy will run a $300 off deal for Black Friday. The same one they did for the Note 8 last Black Friday.

The deals for previous owners are awesome!!! Trade-in lowers the price considerably. Does anyone know of anything comparable for new buyers, now or during Black Friday?

Hmm, interesting. Odd that their "tiny print" seems to imply otherwise. Good for those who want to take advantage of this deal. Hate the whole discounts spread over 24 payments. I'll likely still be waiting for the $300 Target gift card for Black Friday.

If you belong to Costco, their watch deal is $10 less and sale starts a week earlier, 11/16. Their packaging usually includes something extra too. When they had the gear sport, they included a 2nd charging stand.
