Best Incredible Launcher and why...

I just got LauncherPro this morning and I am really loving it so far. Quick question about it though for people that use it. To enable it, I had to hit the home button and choose LauncherPro. I did not say to do this as the default (just in case i go back to Sense). If I do decide to set LauncherPro as the default for when I hit the Home key, how would I get back to Sense if I ever wanted to?

LauncherPro is pretty good. I used it with the Jager 1.6.2 ROM but have since rolled back to the stock Sense UI. But heck you got Android try them all and make a decision for yourself!!

Go to your app manager and click on launcherPro and click clear defaults.

You can install an app called Home Switcher which will allow you to switch launchers on the fly. You can set them as defaults or just run them for that duration, very handy especially if you want to try a few different launchers.

Launcher Pro FTW!

... but seriously the BEST way to decide if you want to move from HTC Sense to a launcher is to TEST them. Fortunately, the launchers are FREE. If you don't like them, they easily uninstall and you are back to good old HTC Sense.

Test them out, and come back to tell us what you think. (c:

Let me share some reasons why I like Launcher Pro better than HTC Sense.
1. The app drawer scrolling is SOOO smooth, I like the 3D effect too.
2. I like the option of being able to fit 5 rows instead of 4 rows on each screen.
3. I am able to choose how many screens I want.
4. I love the bottom dock! It makes much more sense to me than having HTC's "dock" with a huge phone icon, an app drawer launcher, and a useless icon used to add widgets etc.
5. Another huge win for me is for uninstalling an app, go to the app drawer, tap and hold an app, then drag and hold it in the trash bin until you see a message "Drop to Uninstall". A lot faster and easier than the Market or App Manager.

One thing I wish you could do with Launcher Pro is use HTC's widgets, but I got over that in a few days and found some excellent replacements.

Good luck, and have fun.

I agree. I just really like the HTC weather animations. Maybe when I get bored with that I'll swith permanently to Launcher Pro. ;)

I was pretty stoked on the HTC weather animations as well, but the "new-ness" wore off for me.
It is always sunny and partly cloudy in Utah, so I saw the same animation over and over. LOL

Also, the same for HTC Sense. I installed LauncherPro and decided to use HTC Sense for a few days before I totally jumped ship and went into HTC Sense in App Manager and cleared defaults. Next time I hit "Home" I was asked which launcher etc.

I've been using LauncherPro for the past few days and it is SUPER fast. I find it much faster than stock HTC sense.

put another drop in the launcher pro bucket.

it's super fast, very customizable, and the dev is always adding to it and updating.

the biggest plus to me for it is the dock with shortcuts, keeps my desktop clean and i like that i can change the icons.

with my short attention span, it keeps the experience fresh and fun.

I keep ping-ponging back and forth between LP and Sense. Is there a speed dial/picture contact app or widget to use with LP similar to the Sense one? I seem to use that a lot.

So far I'm loving LP now that I just downloaded it...only thing is that it seems ever since I added it, typing has been really delayed, the letters on the keyboard appear long after I've hit that button...has this happened to anyone else and is there anything I may be able to do to fix it???

since i'm still new to the inc, i'm using the stock until get tired of it. hehe

You can place shortcuts to contacts on the desktop...I'm not sure if there is a sense style widget though asi never found that to be very useful for me...

Can some one tell me what the diff. between launcher pro and helixlauncher?? if any.
