I ended up getting the Lifeproof Fre. Kinda pricey, but I'm going to have it for a while, so I figured it was worth the investment.
I'm big on wallet cases so I would've liked an Otterbox Strada, but they're not making it for LG (Yet?).

I stopped using screen protectors and when the case on my current phone started getting ratty looking I stopped using it. Phone looks great without it and it's in great shape even after being dropped..

I am using one of these: Caseology Wavelength

It fits well, very grippy, doesn't add too much bulk. Not easy to take off, so will be a pain when swapping batteries or modules. Looking forward to some clever, well engineered two piece cases.

I ordered the OBLIQ Skyline Advance with kickstand ($15) and the Zagg Invisible Shield screen protector. I am waiting for Seidio to come out with the Convert case for the G5. I used the Convert with my Samsung Galaxy for a number of years and it worked great. The OBLIQ should do fine until then. Definitely check out the Zagg screen protector.

Hi guys. Quick question about how the new cases are fitting around the sloping topside of the G5 screen. Do any of them leave a gap?

I have the Caseology Wavelength, and it fits snug on the top curving glass.
Thanks for the reply, I've really wanted to buy the G5, but I was worried about how cases and screen protectors would fit over the slope. Im so clumsy I know for certain, any phone I buy will hit the floor several times!

I just got my Obliq today and it fits great without any bulk. It matches the color of my phone exactly so it's not obtrusive. I like the kickstand too. We'll see how it holds up over time.

GF Picked up this BRILA case.

While it fits well, it's a little slick in the hand and the volume rocker keys don't always hit the button on the right spot causing the volume to fluctuate rather than move in one direction only.

I have a VRS Crystal Bumper case on the way and will let ya know how it is when I get it on Saturday.
