Best messaging app?

Hi everyone. I'm looking for an alternative to the stock messaging app as well as Hangouts for these reasons. The native messaging app does not handle group messaging correctly. It shows up as individual messages in my contacts phones when they receive them. Because of that they do not know it is a group message nor can they reply as such. As far as Hangouts...the speed at which it sends MMS is ridiculously slow, but my biggest gripe is that when you enter a thread it sometimes starts three messages up. I just can't deal with that.

Anyhow. What are some suggestions anyone has, keeping in mind my need for group messaging?

Thanks:)

Try out Textra. It is easy, allows customization and just a very good messaging app

My stock messaging app works fine, no problems whatsoever. What carrier are you with?

Sprint. The stock app is fine, but it doesn't handle group texts correctly. They show up as individual texts in my contacts phones and no one can reply back to the group and they don't know it was a group text.

Textra? Hmmm ok. Better than Chomp SMS?

Before i got the LG G2(D800), i used "8SMS" on my SGSIII. It worked great, and it should be what you're looking for. As for your problem with the stock msg app, i've seen a lot of problems with the CDMA(Sprint, Verizon) versions of the LG G2. IMHO, your carrier is using an outdated system.:p

Perfect! Thank you! That is what I am looking for! Wow!

Good app...unfortunately it is still doing the "let's go to to three-five threads above" thing. Can't use it. So fricken annoying.

I'm not sure it will do the job for you Jeff, but perhaps take a look at Handcent. I have found it to be an excellent SMS client -- but my requirements may be different.
