I've had my Note8 since early January 2018 when it was sent as a replacement for my Note4 that died. Personally, I think the whole edge idea sucks. I have a Spigen case with a kickstand and I added glass screen protectors. Referring to the plural of the word protector was intentional because I am now on my THIRD one. All three have cracked or chipped after minor drops onto hard surfaces in roughly the same area: at the edge just above the power button. The obvious reason is because the edge is not protected because it protrudes above the case. While I am happy that the screen protectors cracked and not the screen, I'm not at all impressed with the device, because of the edge gimmick. I just received another delivery of glass protectors which I assume will be mounted, cracked and replaced within 60 days. After that I may switch to another substance. Sure, I shouldn't drop the phone, but that happens, though it didn't happen when I dropped my Note4. Last, I was going to replace my case with one with a built in screen protector such as on an Otter Box, but I found that because of the edge feature, such cases don't exist. So, I really dislike the phone and not just because of the edge, but not enough to switch to Apple.
