Best overall ROM

When people talk about features that roms have, what is an example of one. And not just standard features jb has. I'm trying to convince myself to install a Rom. I'm on stock rooted and added Google now from xda

Full navigation bar customization, lock screen weather, toggles/power widget, changing the status bar, different speed tweaks, etc.

JB Sourcery

Love the new JBSOURCERY V1.0 PreRelease, which is being improved every day it seems and has many neat features, such as live updates, many, many options to do anything, etc. Very impressed, and I have tried a number of JB ROMS. Great support from developers.

it's not that hard: Blog | Codename Android

i like this one the best so far. have tried each of the others here, and each had just a slight problem for me, or didn't have all the features i have come to really like.
I actually agree. I jumped back on the CNA train earlier today and I would say it's the best all around ROM. It has the most features, runs great, my galley works, apps restored and still looks like stock JB.

I have to say CM10 (JellyBro) is the best at this time as well . I am glad that they got the mods for the navigation bar now built in so no need to install that modification .
I started to switch to CNA once but changed my mind , lol

What's a great rom that has tons of options and is VERY steady, I've had crashes before and their not pretty.

I'm using Jelly Belly. It's pretty close to stock, not that many options, but it's extremely stable.

That's a great question. I wish there were a table somewhere comparing custom ROMs with their features listed.

Anyway, here's what keeps me on CM10 (Euroskank). They may also be incorporated in other ROMs also.

  • Notification bar widgets for brightness, wifi on/off, etc. Yeah, I know that this can be done in an app but I like it built-in.
  • Customize the navigation bar at the bottom. I like getting the menu and search buttons back.
  • Profiles built-in. With the press of the power button I can select a profile to quiet the phone and change ring tones when I get to work. RIght at my fingertips.
  • Support for the Launcher of choice in the system settings page.
  • Ability to overclock

Yes, I know, none of that is earth shattering and most of these things can be done with apps. But it's nice not to have to add bloated apps to my phone and know that these features are readily available.

I've been on a bunch and CNA 3.2 takes the cake. Best of the things I liked on other roms baked into one. Super snappy and stable (for the hours I've been using it) w/ franco r241

Bugless Beast is just too vanilla for me.

Codename 3.2 is the current best for features/options/stability...

By far - [ROM][JB] XenonHD by Team Horizon......link below

[ROM][JB] XenonHD v9.0 (14.08.12) *Major Update* - xda-developers

This ROM offers all the customization one could want built in, no need to install mods, they are all there for you already. There are ROM settings, General UI (boot animation, buug mailer, rotation, etc., Lockscreen options - custom app launch from lock screen, weather on lock screen, clock options, Notification toggles, drop down notification customization, battery bar, navigation bar settings (you can add anything to your bottom bar where stock is home, back, and recents), dock settings, drawer settings, folder settings, behavior settings, theme settings, backup/restore settings, , comes with Apex Launcher built in.............need i say more.

Paired with the Trinity kernal, i am running 18 hours on battery with still 35% left.

Do yourself a favor, stop debating, use it, and donate to your developers......

I may give Xenon a run this weekend. Has anyone tried JBSourcery yet? What the hay, I might try that one too.

So far I have not been blown away by Euroskank. I actually liked AOKP Preview builds better.

What's your screen on time?

2 hours 3 minutes, have 8% battery left, 21 hrs, 27mins phone on. Stock battery....also, to mention, i use my screen on auto brightness, and was outside in the sun using the web browser on my lunch break at full brightness for a good 20-30 mins.

Easily the best ive done with this phone as of yet.

Not to sound like a d*ck but in a "best overall rom" thread people should mention what ROMs they've tried, or at least how many. I have a feeling some people go from stock or even a stockish JB rom to their first customizable rom and think they struck oil. Good for you, and you're entitled to your opinon of course, but it's a lot less helpful than someone's opinion that's actually tried a bunch of roms. I thought XenonHD was fine. That's all.

Personally, unless I'm camping/hiking/etc. overnight in the wilderness, I'd have to try hard not to plug my phone into a wall/usb/car charger within a few hours. I find it hard not to believe that's also true for most other people in the 21st century. No?

Well, we all have different lifestyles. I'm seldom in my office for more than 30 minutes at a time so it's hard for me to charge the phone during the day.
