I need a new phone; I have a $250 budget. I don't care about camera quality, I'm not a gamer and don't want a giant screen. 5" would be ideal, but it seems like all the quality phones have screens larger than that.

I just use my phone for calls/texts, music and internet.

I originally wanted the Moto G5 Plus; it seems like the obvious choice at my price range. That changed when I read thread after thread, on the Moto forum, about the phone's LOW max volume, feeble loud speaker and poor microphone.

Then someone recommended the Huawei P10 Lite. It's specs are pretty close to the G5 Plus. The big downside is no Gorilla Glass or even scratch resistant coating. When I went to Amazon both the 3gb and 4gb models are "International Versions." Does this mean that they won't work in the US?

Any suggestions on another phone would be great. There are so many to wade through...it's exhausting!

Thanks.

Here's a list of sub 300 dollar phones from Android Central....

Also be on the lookout for Black Friday deals at Thrifter.com......

ALWAYS check the bands yourself and compare your carrier, BUT often International models work just fine on T-Mobile and AT&T. Worst case you will not get 4G LTE but often you will. I had an International Mate 9 for example and it had the T-Mobile (and AT&T) LTE bands.
