Best place to purchase?

I'm new to verizon and I'm just wondering if it really matters where one purchases the galaxy nexus, particularly whether it's better to buy it from an official Verizon rather than Best Buy. I ask because I'm closer to a Best Buy. I called both and they each said they would have it tomorrow. Will I have any trouble getting the free 4GB upgrade from 2GB at Best Buy? Does Verizon have a better accessory selection?

Honestly, the only time I deal with retailers other than VZW corporate is if:

1) They are selling the phone cheaper on contract
2) Corporate stores all out

Otherwise I just go to VZW. But For a new customer I don't think you would have any problems. A lot of times people have to go to the corp stores because other retailers are limited in terms of what they can do in terms of upgrade and even unexpected discounts. Also to note, usually VZW gives a hefty discount on accessories when you buy a device. Best Buy probably would too but I'd expect them to be limited in this area on release day.

came here to post the same question. First time verizon customer starting tomorrow, and i'll be going to a "Premium retailer".

So all prices/activation fees/any other types of fees/ plans will all be the same as from a VZW corporate store?

If you're buying on-contract, Costco's deals are pretty hard to beat.

Off-contract, Verizon Corporate, no question at all. Everywhere else marks up off-contract prices $100-$150. Best Buy and Radio Shack will be $799.99, whereas VZW will be $649.99.

well, I just spoke to an Amazon Wireless salesperson and she stated that website updates every 15min. So, I'm gonna hold out till tomorrow morning and see if they have a discount. The only bad thing with Amazon is that you'll have to wait till Monday to receive it.

I'm planning on getting it at Costco. Even if there isn't going to be a great accessories package, the 90 day return/exchange policy is awesome.

Costco is the best by far imo. Just talked with them, they said zero warehouses have the phone in stock as of tonight and he's not 100% sure if his warehouse will be getting them tomorrow. Really would suck if they didn't get them in tomorrow, but if not I'll wait a day or two to get it at Costco.

Any idea how soon it will appear on Amazon.com and what kind of discount to expect (if I'm opening a brand new account)? The RAZR is only $170 right now, but I'm not sure what it was on Amazon right at release.

The RAZR was $111 on launch day. So I'm hoping there will be a discount on the Nexus too

Hmm, I just called a couple Costco's in my area, one said they did not have any inventory and the other did not want to give me a straight answer on whether or not they have inventory. He just said to call back when the device launches.

Btw, I found some useful information here from verizon's site:

Wireless Device/Accessory Return Policy

You may return or exchange wireless devices and accessories purchased from Verizon Wireless within 14 days of purchase. A restocking fee of $35 ($70 for netbooks and tablets) applies to any return or exchange of a wireless device (excluding Hawaii).

This return and exchange policy does not apply to customers who have purchased a Prepaid Plan.

Purchases made between November 15 and December 28, 2011 may be returned or exchanged through January 15, 2012. All other provisions of Verizon Wireless’ Return & Exchange Policy continue to apply, including Restock Fee.

Nice that they extend the return time for the holidays (14 days is bogus IMO). $35 restock fee stinks though.
