Best practices for battery preservation?

I was wondering if anyone had any tips as to how to make sure that the battery of Note 8 does deteriorate to the point of rapid draining like some of my recent phones.

Prior to the Note I had a BlackBerry DTEK 60 and before that I had an S7 Edge. Both of those phones started off with respectable battery lives, but over time they both barely gave me more than a few hours of use before I had to scramble for a charger.

I'm wondering if this is something that I'm doing wrong or is it just an inevitability? Ideally, I would love to keep my Note 8 for a minimum of 2 years before upgrading. A lot of that will depend on the battery life down the road.

Keep your battery percentage between 30~80 % is better for your battery
