Best root/unlocking method?

I decided that I wanted to unlock and root my GN. But I'm worried that something will go wrong and I end up having a bricked phone. I have no idea what to do when it comes to this stuff but I want to learn. So, what is the easiest method? Wugs toolkit, the PC version, or the Mac version? (I have both a PC and a Mac btw).

When it comes to unlocking, I might as well be blind and leading the blind. I tried the Wugs toolkit and it can't be any easier. Follow the instructions and ensure you have the drivers installed.

Wugs worked flawlessly for me....did not root though - just unlocked for 4.04

I tried the mac version. It was short and to the point. Now I'm trying to get the 4.0.4.

How do I get rid of the exclamation mark in recovery mode?

sbenson's method is by far the easiest method. i actually had trouble figuring out how to use wug's root toolkit. lol.

if you have problems with pdanet installing on your phone just restart your computer and your phone and reinstall the program and it should work. follow the instructions exactly as written.

That process looks actually harder than wug's.

All I did on wug's was follow the columns from top left to bottom right (depending on what I want to do on my nexus)

I too used WugFresh's toolkit, and it worked great!
