Best route for a replacement?

Hey all - I am looking for some advice.

I bought my N7 from Sam's Club the Friday before the "official" launch from Google. Sam's only had 2 tablets, and I bought both, so they had none available for warranty/replacement. Out of the box, my tablet had screen issues (screen lifting) and three areas where the screen is completely gray (think dead pixels, but more than one pixel and gray instead of black). These gray spots are really unattractive when watching videos, etc.

So, I called Google for a replacement and they said Sam's has to handle my replacement. I then called Sam's and asked when they'd have any more in stock, and they said not until middle of August. Well, it's middle of August now and I called Sam's today. They are still out of stock and aren't expecting any more tablets until middle of October. I have 90 days for a warranty exchange from the date of purchase, and I'm worried the tablets will go out of stock fast again and I won't be able to get a replacement within my 90 day window.

Should I chance it and wait it out, or should I order a new N7 on Google Play, and when it comes in return my old tablet to Sam's for a refund? I am thinking it might be better to just go straight through Google and return my N7 to Sam's and be done with it all.

Sams isn't the only place you can buy one in a brick and mortar. Return the bad unit to Sams. Get your money back. Go buy another one from someplace local so that you can do an exchange on the spot if you find a problem. Since you know so many units have problems, why would you want to chance things by order via mail and thus the associated return hassles?

That's a good point. So I called Gamestop - no stock in currently, and none expected for 2 weeks. What other stores have the N7 that are brick&mortar?

I would wait at least 6 months, I've gone through 4 entire shipments at my local store, totaling 21 units, all defective with screen rise and the last with a really bad flicker. They ranged from C60 to C70 in the SSN so getting a C70 is by no means a guarantee it will work either.

And getting one from Google Play and the newest batch and whatever doesn't work either, most of them are guaranteed defective.

What's the store's reaction to your constant returns? What store is it and i'm surprised they just dont tell you to go elsewhere and you just dont stop complaing about the n7 and buy something else.
