Best sd card for note 7?

good luck on that. i got mt note 7, approved for 256, get this, now threw at me even if approved will take within 3 months to get it.

Samsung 256Gb $250 @ BBY but SanDIsk 256GB $150.

I had searched & for a great comparison & speed tests which concluded they are approx =
One did slightly better in 1 test & the other in another test. I can't find the web page now.

I ended up ordering the 256GB card as my "free" gift from BBY when preordering my phone. Did I receive it on launch day when I got my phone? No. BBY claims I will definitely get it but will have to wait a couple months. We'll see if I ever receive it or instead get "a story."

Those two cards aren't really comparable. The SanDisk has much lower write speeds than the Samsung.

SanDisk has a card coming out in Q4 that matches the Samsung card in write speed but it will be priced at $199.

I also don't know about now, because Samsung moved away from SD cards, but there was a time a lot of people with Samsungs were having a lot of ScanDisk card fails.

Historically, SD cards have been nothing but problems for Samsung. It's probably why they abandoned it in the Note 5. Although there's no definitive evidence linking SD cards to slow performance, there's enough anecdotal evidence that's pretty conclusive. Market demand, however, has been overwhelming, so they brought the SD card back in the Note 7.

And, there's also enough anecdotal evidence to suggest that Samsung-branded cards work best in Samsung phones. Not sure why this would be, but I've found it to be true, as have others. File corruption seems to occur much more frequently on non-Samsung-branded cards.

Card speed has little to do with performance (assuming it's a reasonably fast card), other than file copying speed, so buying the fastest cards there are won’t help much, if at all.

Just my opinions from years on these boards and 3 Note phones.

I've never had an issue with my SD cards with my Samsungs, but I never bought the big high performance cards. That's when I saw a lot of problems with cards.

I don't see how the EVO + could be as good as their PRO + cards which are Samsung's top of the line cards?
They seemed to have bumped the performance of the Evo+ line for this 256gb card. Currently they don't have a 256gb Pro+.

The lower capacity Evo+ cards have much slower write speed than this card.

Pretty much spec for spec, the 256gb Evo+ card matches the speed of the 128gb Pro+.

I gave up on SanDisk a while ago when I had to go through two RMA.

It was that or Kingston, which ever is on sale but my last purchase for my Tab S2 the girl at Canada Computers where I buy my microSD cards recommended TRANSCEND.

The specs where identical to Kingston and cheaper, she said it has the lowest fail rate on Samsung devices.

I chose the gear fit 2 I'm gonna pick this one up

Saw this Samsung 256GB Pro + card on eBay. This has to be a fake as Samsung has not even made the 256GB Pro + yet.
People are buying this. Crazy. Wonder if Samsung will produce the 256GB Pro + sooner or later?

I would never buy a microsd card on eBay unless it was from a reputable dealer like Newegg, B&H, etc. Way to many fakes out there.

Just thought it was funny that they were selling the 256GB Pro + card for $99.00 and Samsung has not even made these cards yet.

Check out Ebay. People are selling Samsung 256gb EVO sd dirt cheap. I brought my today for $115.
