OBBO Android SMS & Contacts Backup is the only smart andriod SMS & Contacts backup and managment software. It is an application designed for cellphones running android system. It allows you to transfer and backup your SMS messages & Contacts between android phone and desktop computer. I think all android users should own such a powerful android SMS & Contacts backup manager, because it is a rare good software.

I love Go SMS... the others don't have nearly as many themes... I like to change themes a lot... and Go works great... I never had an issue...it's all about what's important to you...

Is there ANY app that can MMS an iPhone user without carrier charges? One thing is really miss from moving from iMessage is that it costs me around 30p to MMS now :-(

I'm glad in stumbled upon this thread. I downloaded textra a few weeks ago to my One after seeing what some of you wrote, and I am loving it!

Its fast and I love that it is free and ad free!

I am on Sprint and my MMS pics were so condensed people couldn't even see most. I was unaware textra didn't condense as much. I'll have to try it out with a friend's to verify. I wonder if it makes my longer SMS less out of order.

The newest update added the 1/3, 2/3, 3/3 etc. So even if they do show up out of order they will know.

I see a lot of folks in here raving about Textra. For anyone who has used both Chomp and Textra, I'd appreciate it if you would explain any differences between the two or significant improvements in one over the other.
I have been using chomp over the stock HTC messaging because I had the photo reduction problems when iPhone and android users sent pictures to me. Chomp has taken care of that problem, however, I am also curious about textra after reading this forum. Can anyone compare/contrast chomp and textra?

I have been using chomp for a couple weeks now. I had problems with photo size reductions on the stock HTC sms when iPhone and android users sent me pics. I have had a fairly enjoyable experience with chomp, but after reading this forum, I am curious about textra. Like Michael asked, can anyone compare/contrast chomp and textra? Seems like they are very similar to me. Thanks!

I'd be curious to. They seem very similar because they were both created by the same developer. I've just stayed with chompsms for now since I know it and have been using it for awhile.

reviving a young thread due to recent issues with textra: it stopped reliably sending MMS messages, or messages with pictures.

i am back to stock now. the only thing i miss are emojis (i have one girlfriend that is fun like that). can i get emojis for stock messages app? or is there a similar texting app that is as simple and clean as textra? i may try reinstalling it. but maybe we needed a break. i also wasn't able to get unread counts for textra (using nova and tesla unread).

thanks!!

I believe there was just an update for Textra I downloaded this morning adressing an MMS issue. Hopefully this will solve things.

i tried it as a last resort before uninstalling. maybe one of my newer apps (ES file explorer and airdroid) interfered with it? i don't know how these things work. but textra used to send MMS and now doesn't while messages does. i looked at GOSMS, HANDCENT and CHOMP and none get overwhelmingly positive reviews on the HTC ONE. maybe i will reinstall textra after the next update.

thank you!

Textra is definitely the app to get.
Chomp was always what I used myself however it became very heavy. Slow load times, constant crashing, and not to mention mms issues constantly.
So far I am pleased with the responsiveness of Textra and how light it is. Kudos to all who recommended it. I would have never known about it.

As I barely send or receive SMS, Textra is very good, specially with the dismissable prompt when tapping a notification.

I was fine with the stock app but it started to close when tapping a notification. Rebooting and clearing its cache didn't work, so I went to Textra and keep it.
