Best texting app and keyboard for G4

Material messaging and Google keyboard. Tried most of the others but material messaging just works well and is always getting worthy updates, I once emailed the developer with an issue and got a fast response and app was updated within 40 minutes. Only reason I stick with Google keyboard is that I like the swiping and the fast swipe from the ?123 button in the corner to get numbers/punctuation, and when I highlight a word I can then tap shift⬆ once to capitalise the First Letter or tap twice to make the word CAPS.

Been using Textra for 1+ years, now on LG G4, before on Galaxy S5. No keyboard lag that I can identify. I will say that there seems to be an issue with Chrome. Reading somewhere else about a lag issue, I removed Chrome and typing no longer lagged. I've since replaced Chrome (reloaded it) and it seems fine. I'd used the stock keyboard until this week, and now use the newest Swiftkey which I think is fantastic (customizable, number row on top, and the learning is heads and shoulders above the stock keyboard).

Google Messenger and Keyboard. I'm using Swiftkey at the moment but I hate the auto space it puts in after a punctuation mark so I'll go back to Google Keyboard like I always do. The stock LG keyboard has some nice touches like being able to resize and move buttons around (stops me hitting . instead of space) but the autocorrect is poor on any setting.

Been using Chrooma keyboard for a short time and it's great. I'm just as fast as flow on Swiftkey. I have it on the setting which adapts the keyboard color with whatever app you're using at the time. Very cool.

I am using an older keyboard called Smart Keyboard Pro. Been using it for about 4 years on 3 different phones. I use Textra for messaging.

I've tried most of the available keyboards since I got my G4. LG's keyboard takes 2nd place with Google Keyboard taking 1st. The others are lacking, for my needs, in one way or another.

For texting, I just use the baked in app...not a heavy text user.

I tried a few, but most of the time they're laggy, or have annoying functions, or most often have an overbearing aesthetic that's incongruous with everything else. Google Keyboard seems to be the nicest and fastest of the alternatives.

After my marshmallow update I decided to give the lg stock messaging app and the lg stock keyboard another try. (I had been using Google keyboard and messenger)....

HOLY COW... No lag at all... Lightning fast!!!

Set up a custom layout (read the instructions), set up the custom "PC" layout as an alternate language, and you can the switch between the 2 easily.

I've been trying so many different texting apps lately, just to make sure I'm using the best one for me. I have to say I can type lightening fast on TouchPal, the prediction is amazing, I can easily switch to Spanish, there's a great editing tool, and coupled with the YAATA SMS app I'm pretty much set on my LG G4.

I used to have swiftkey but I find this one better
