With the Apple vs. Samsung battle, if somehow the alleged pro apple judge decide to ban samsung sales and/or forces samsung to pay 2.5billtion + in really crappy patent claims which I hope never happends, is now the best time to get an Galaxy S3?

I have a droid x, screen has many black punctured dots, top of the screen cover has one horizontal crack. So I am due to upgrade. I'm willing to pay full to keep the unlimited so I don't get the new plan. So the idea to to get it with no contract.

I'm afraid if wait to long I may miss out on this phone depending on what happends in the court case. Pretty sure we'll have some johnny cochran as you can see, the inside of the apple clearly fits the samsung case...

Yes now is the time. Buy mine! Lol.

Yeah, I guess the question is how long will a lawsuit like this last. I may end up getting the Galaxy S3. With the amount of accessories available and the fact that it is available to the big 4 carriers makes it a nce get. But it's hard not to turn down the 2GB ram and the internal 32GB on that model. Plus the blue is nice.

I was faced with:

A) Take home the blue one now
B) Wait a few days for white

I had to wait a few days

I don't understand why they made one of only 2 colors to choose from that blue color... I just don't dig it. I could see it if they offered black, red, etc. as well

Have you tracked your data consumption? Is it necessary to pay full price if you can get it subsidized changing plan?

i cant imagine the court banning sales of S3. Not only would the ruling be ridiculous but too much backlash. I say this whole lawsuit is ridiculous but...

I like my blue one.

It looks much better than that cheap looking white! :p

Today, I read that the judge will not consider samsung design mockups prior to 2006. Isn't it a coincidence that the iphone came out soon after 2006. That this judge happens to be known to side via apple and the fact that she dismisses a quote by steve jobs from a book about him stating he will spend all the money if he has to fight other manufactuers.

I don't know. Maybe I'm looking to much into this, I just find it very convienient on Apple's part.

its a trial by jury

Get It Now!

I held off long enough and finally ordered mine today. It will be arriving tomorrow and I'm excited!

The more praise and raves I hear about the S3, the more difficult it was to not buy it. I haven't been on these forums in months and it took a device like the S3 to bring me back.

One thing I plan to get if I do get this is the wireless charger samsung is releasing a 2-3 months. I just don't like plugging my cord in. And I have a habit of losing cords.

I have the wireless back cover and the LG charging pad they sell at Verizon. I will say that it charges slower than the cord.

Do you have any idea how much slower? IE does it take Twice as long to charge compared to the wired charger?

When you charge your GS3 wireless, can you charge it with a protective cover on it or must the back cover be in direct contact with the charging pad? If you are charging your GS3 with a cover on it what type/name is it?

I am using an Otterbox Defender on my GS3. I am hoping the Samsung Wireless charging system will work for me without requiring that I remove my SG3 from the Defender rubber and plastic cases. If the Samsung charger does require direct contact between the back of the phone and the charging pad, then Samsung will not be selling one of these to me.

I don't see why you shouldn't. I believe it uses something call inductive charging in which there is a coil in the phone and another at the charge station that generated a charging field in which it converts electromagnetic energy to useable energy.

I wouldn't say twice as long to charge but maybe 20 -30 minutes more. I have a Verizon case that works on the pad so yes it works, also the phone gets quite hot on the charging pad.

Yeah it's a conspiracy by the Judge in league with Apple..except for the times when she sided with Samsung, even though Samsung has destroyed evidence and several other underhanded tricks.
Samsung has a long history of misconduct in many areas of their business. They have been in a lot of trouble with the South Korean government for years.
What Steve Jobs said about Android has no bearing unless Apple had a monopoly, which they don't, and he was employing some illegal method to keep it, which he wasn't.
Because you have a Samsung or Android pone is not a reason to go off on silly conspiracy theories.
Samsung is going to come out of this hurting. They are already losing most of Apples business which is billions of dollars per year and the Samsung board and their shareholders are not at all happy about it. They can and are being replaced in the iPhone 5 parts lineup.
Considering that Samsung is the only Android manufacturer not losing money this is not good for the Android ecosystem.
Too bad Google (especially) and their partners were so arrogant about stealing others technology. Thats why $3 to $6 of every Android phone sale goes to Microsoft for example.

Sure it is....kind of how wireless internet isn't as fast as direct cable? :D
