Best Twitter app for Nexus 7

Carbon is out sometime this week, no release date planned yet. The developer said the week of the 22nd. Looking forward to giving it a whirl when it does release. Source: https://twitter.com/CarbonAndroid/status/226998771848974336

Currently using Boid (sideloaded the APK from my phone) Tweetlanes (sideloaded too) or Plume. I haven't settled on one just yet, but Plume is probably the best and has the added bonus of Tweetmarker which loads your position in your timeline across multiple devices.

Plume is my favorite. I occasionally try others but I always end up going back to Plume. I'll probably checkout Carbon too.

I'm using Twicca. Lifehacker just recommended it and I really like it so far.

TweetCaster seems to have reduced functionality on the Nexus 7 compared to phone. No option to view replies, mentions when I go on someone's profile come up with blank text, no themes like the pink pictured earlier. Not really happy unless I'm missing something, I'm starting to get why Twitter is always the example used for Android tablet app deficiency.

I wish I liked Plume...but it just looks bad to me.

So pretty much stuck on official Twitter (much as I'd love TweetMarker support) until something better comes. Fingers crossed for Carbon...I'd give a lot for a proper Tweetbot replacement. :-(

I dont think Carbon is going to support tablets. It will be like the official twitter app, just blown up on the nexus 7.

Thing about Plume and the sideways columns is I've gotten accustomed to using my N7 upright not sideways so turning it to check Twitter just isn't appealing to me. Been holding out for Carbon for over a month now and I have a feeling it isn't going to disappoint.

I emailed their tech support regarding the issues with tweetcaster on the nexus. Thus is the reply I got:

Matt L., Jul 24 08:30 am (CDT):
Hello,
Thank you for the email and screen shots. The tablet version is different in a few ways than the phone based version. The "view replies" functionality will be added to the tablet version here very soon. Project management listed a bugs in search results turning up blank and certain trends showing up blank due to how the Jelly Bean OS was working with TweetCaster code within Twitter's API. Changes have been made to fix this and are in the final stages of testing for a new upgrade here very soon. We apologize for any inconvenience. If you have any further questions or issues, please let us know.

Thanks,

I think Slices is better than the ones mentioned so far. I have tried them all out side by side now and Slices wins.

Slices is my favorite too. I love the in-App browser and the Readability plug in. I also use the Falcon widget. It opens a little floating browser with Instapaper plug in, and you can choose what twitter app you want to launch when you click the widget header, as Falcon is not an app, just a widget.

Still no Carbon? Was amazing on my Pre+ and touchpad.

I've been using Plume because of the widget. I like being able to see "tweets", "mentions", and "direct messages" all on my homescreen widget.

Are there any other twitter app widgets that can show these 3 things all on the home screen??

Plume does the job for me though, but I'm open to suggestions!

I was using Seesmic (on the list) on my tablet and my phone. I liked it, but it quit updating on both. I think they shut it down
